Ashot
Armenia’s Eurovision song to be chosen on March 8th On March 8th Sirusho, who is going to represent Armenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2008, will give a concert at the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan. She will present four songs that have been previously chosen from among ten, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Public Television Diana Mnatsakanyan informed Armenpress. The song to be presented at Eurovision 2008 will be chosen through TV voting. “There are a number of interesting suggestions from young Armenian composers. I think we shall have a large choice this year,” Diana Mnatsakanyan said. Viewers of the Public TV will have the opportunity to watch the Eurovision 2008 in May and the Junior Eurovision 2008 in December. Eva
I personally dont have anything against her, I think she is a good singer, but I don't think her voice is as good enough to be presented for the Eurovision,, I mean couldn't they selected someone with a little bit more experience,,
Ashot
Ne because qocharyan's wanted it this way - they reason why they didn't choose her two years ago is because they didn't want people to say, aha nayeq sentsa nentsa, instead they waited alittle bit!!! Now it's her turn!!! Besides, she is not that bad, she'll manage the 7th place!!!

Armenak
Eurovision blows. It is an embarrassment. Europeans always tout themselves as smarter and more cultured than Americans but Eurovision makes them look a bunch of idiots (especially considering the fact that nearly every song is performed in English). Ashot
Armenak - Are you suggesting that if english is internationally used language - then Europeans are dumb? what kind of a stupid comment was that? is that what they teach you in the US? would you care to explain in detail what do you mean when you say Eurovision is an embarrassment? would you pin poin which part of it is an embarassment? and would you explain in detail as how a Eurovision makes Erope look a bunch of idiots? It seems to mee that America is doing a good job at frying some people's brains nothing more then that... would you please tell me your education level as well? while we at it... Armenak
Armenak - Are you suggesting that if english is internationally used language - then Europeans are dumb? No. But isn't linguistic diversity something that makes Europe unique? is that what they teach you in the US? Identifying tackiness isn't something that has to be taught. what do you mean when you say Eurovision is an embarrassment? would you pin poin which part of it is an embarassment? and would you explain in detail as how a Eurovision makes Erope look a bunch of idiots? I don't know, stuff like this? It seems to mee that America is doing a good job at frying some people's brains nothing more then that... would you please tell me your education level as well? while we at it... Yes, it is all America's fault.
Ashot
Armenak jan, first of all, the country chooses the song that has to be performed, and some of the countries choose english songs... then sorry for the mess - they should learn from the perfect Americans - yes indeed none of them embarasses America... all the American singers are perfect examples... Armenak
Armenak jan, first of all, the country chooses the song that has to be performed, and some of the countries choose english songs... Almost every single one. For the past few years. And even non-English selections result in abominations. then sorry for the mess - they should learn from the perfect Americans - yes indeed none of them embarasses America... all the American singers are perfect examples... I did not say Americans were perfect. I said that the crap fest known as Eurovision shows that Europop is just as trashy and crappy as American pop (if not crappier). And sorry for insulting such a prestigious competition. I didn't know that people living in California held it in such high regard. In my earlier post I said that Eurovision makes Europeans look like idiots. I should clarify. It makes some Europeans look like idiots. It makes some others look like hypocrites. AVO
Eurovision is not what it used to be. It just dandy for us because its new. Couple of years from now we're gonna send that fish gril. The only reason its still on is because it satisfies peoples desire for competition. Europeans have been killing each other for centuries, now with the EU and all they need outlets to relive the anger. Football matches (man) and competitions like Eurovision (woman) are perfect fit for that.

AVO
that is a very sexist thing to say...! so let's say if a woman watches fotball she becomes more a more manly woman? Not necessarily, generally speaking man prefer to watch sports, while females entertainment programs. When was the last time you watched football, who was playing and what was the score? And to be fair, mine was Dynamo Kiev vs Shakhtar Donetsk, Channal 1 cup, January 31, Tel-Aviv. It was goalless until the very end of the game, where each scored a goal less then 5 minutes 'till the end of the match. in the extra time each scored a goal and the match was decided by penalty kicks. Dynamo won 2-2 (2-3 pk). And yesterday I watched NBA's All star game. This one is a little bit tricky since its more of an entertainment then a competition. East won 134-128. Ashot
Koko jan, you got it wrong... it's the majority of the people we are talking about, and men go to the Eurovision too, they watch it too... but majority who are interested in Eurovision are females, and majority who are interested in soccer competitions are males...
