How Many Of You Have Heard Of The Following Acronym: Seo? For Those Wh

Ashot Jan, nothing is free but I will explain to you the basics of Search Engine Optimization.

Here is a scenario: owner of a auto leasing company located in Glendale has a Website up and running but hardly ever gets relevant visitors--meaning to say most of this traffic is worthless and thus what he thought was going to be an asset becomes a liability. Now, to increase relevant traffic he starts purchasing ads from the following venues: yellowpages, armenianpages, google adwords, yahoo pay per click, and so on, unnecessary money spent on media. Had he done an on-page optimization of his website to be geographically relevant he would not be paying loads of money to these ad agencies. SEO is based on many factors has many dependencies but the major categories are: Relevancy, Keyword Research, Age, Clean Code and Link Building. Each category has it's own set of costs but the most expensive one is the Link Building.

Now people searching on google the following keyword: auto leasing Glendale California will never get to his site organically. SEO is the solution for this scenario, you pay one time fee to get your on-page optimization based on relevancy and with in few weeks you start getting visitors who are actually looking for your business in the area you are physically located.

The dangerous part is when your competitors are doing this and you have not done anything to compete with them on the same search term.

Think about it and let me know your thoughts.

No, it is not a tangible item, I have studied this area for many years and effectively helped businesses. On-page search engine optimization means that the actual websites HTML gets modified in a way that the search engines like. Lot has to do with the keyword you are targeting for example if you target: online dating you are going to have thousands of competitors thus will have to spend lot more money to get visibility on the main organic search engine result page (SERP).

Does this make sense?

Sure, and what are the charges? here is a website, tell me what the charges would be to do this project!

www.groupservicesunited.com

Sure, the site contains less than 10 pages so the charge will be $500 flat for on-page optimization. Currently the above site has no relevancy it is not ranked with google, basically has 1 to none visitors from google. What is the keyword target for this website? What does it specialize in?

Let me know,

Ashot jan, SEO is common and necessary - you can find out most general details on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization

If you code your own site, with some basic pointers you can quickly improve your search engine rankings. There are also several forums that have specific up-to-date information on SEO like http://www.webmasterworld.com/

It's can be a significant business endeavor in and of itself - lots of folks are making a living offering seo advice to small/medium sized businesses who don't employ web professionals...

Thank you for the detailed explanation Vava Jan!

I myself have built the website and have done the coding trough the help of google...

The website is a very minor part of the advertising that I do...

It is tough, yes indeed I would love to hear what would our friend has to say for it, how could we make that 1 page pretty soon in about 2 weeks I am adding 4 more businesses in there, so it's going to make things harder!!!

If you want to be better ranked by Google, take a look at all the advice here.

Most importantly, make sure your website is simple, clean, and doesn't use too many fancy features (stay away from overly complicated flash for example). Also, keep in mind that there may be a trick today to boost your ranking temporarily but more than likely, it will change tomorrow. Unless you are willing to always try to play this game of trying to stay ahead of the search engines, your best bet is to try to make a "good" site (the link above has a number of good suggestions and guidelines for that).

I updated my post while you were replying. Basically my advice would be to not try to optimize your page for a search engine, but rather to try to optimize your site for your users. Keep it simple, keep it text based, and unless you are making an entertainment type site, keep in mind that people often come to a business site to find information rather than to be entertained or dazzled.

I was just looking at it ... overall, it looks pretty cool! Here are my comments:

1. On the main page, there are 2 huge logos taking up the entire screen on my laptop ... I have to scroll down to see anything. I would say maybe keep the flash logo and a smaller version of the circular logo on one side of the screen. Or put the circular one lower on the page.

2. Nothing on the main page says anything about what this page is all about. I have no clue what your company does. There is a short sentence but it confuses more than helps! Also think how would someone end up on this page? I would put the list of services on this page. Then the complete list could be under the "services" page.

3. Your page titles are not set. For example the services page says "Tutorial" while some other ones just say "New Page".

4. A map or a link to a map for the address might be a cool feature and easy to do.

5. I don't understand the news page when I first go there. A more detailed descriptoin at the top about what it is all about will help a lot.

Most importantly, what you have to ask yourself is what is the purpose of this website. Is it to provide support for existing customers, just be a yellow pages like "I exist" kind of thing, or something to attract new customers and services? Just by looking at the site, I can't answer the question. It seems to have contact info and some brief bullets about services but I'm not sure what that does for anyone. Maybe it's not something that I should be interested in ...

eventually I am looking for someone to the things you said plus the seo or whatever needs to be done!!!

I just dont find the necessity of it as of right now, because my target is mainly armenians right now, during expansion it will all change...

Ashot, above you state that your target audience is Armenians, is this a national target? Are you targeting a specific region? or both? This information is critical to SEO.

By the looks of it, your site would be a bit of a challenge to optimize organically as your offerings are VERY diverse, and they all appear on the same page. I'd be curious to know what our new friend here would suggest ;)

Vava, it looks like his in the business of managing other businesses. I am not sure what the scope of his services are but it looks obvious to me that his target audience would be small/medium businesses who are looking for a management company who offers services nationally and locally.

My suggestion would be to obtain as many domain names possible with specific targeted keywords i.e. Armenian Business Management Services, Small Business Management, etc. Maybe even looking for already registered domains and buying one that is relevant. Buying an already relevant domain name is highly recommended because of age, the older the domain is the better.

The above is the WHSEO, I don't mess with BHSEO because of many reasons.

Hope this is clear.
