Maral
On another board I go to, they love to watch and post about the Africa watering hole cam. I found this posted there today. About a month or so ago a lone water buffalo died closer to the lodge. He walked past the pond during the night and you could just hear him struggling to breath. The next morning he was dead between the lodge and the water hole. At first just a couple of jackels showed up, but later a whole huge amount of different animals came, zebras, wildebeasts and others and they all gathered near the dead buffalo and just stood and watched him. It was a very strange and amazing thing to see. It was almost as if they were paying tribute to the old guy. Here's the video. Now the buffalos skull is all that's out there, and sometimes animals come and lick it for the salts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1eAnaTRht8...fricam-sad.html

Yervant1
concentrate Yervant...it's about the animals <_< What animals? didn't see any bears out there. BTW the animals were puzzeled not knowing what had killed the buffalo, so they were gaging the danger whether they should go for a drink or not. It's all human interpretation thats all. ED
That was very interesting. I don't even know what to think...- Animal instinct, and, if I was a bear, or a gazelle I wouldn’t go near the water hole eider.

ED
contradiction of the natural rule, care, friendship would not be possible beetwin a jackal and gazelle. Animalistic instinct is much more powerful then anything, this is true in humans as well in similar situations
