Iran is a great ally of Armenia, they always help us.

Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan today received a delegation led by Iran’s Defense and Armed Forces Minister, Major-General Mostafa Mohammad Najar. Individual interviews were held with each minister at the start of the meeting, after which delegation members were included. It was established that previous meetings between the ministers had led to deepening ties in economy and culture, as well as cooperation in the field of defense and military hardware.

Armat do you mean during the war? if yes, then no, they stayed neutral. They even tried to mediate peace. On the other hand, when we were thinking about liberation of Nakhijevan, Iran placed large number of its military on their side of the border. Edited by Avo47

No I mean now but today I read this on Groong. It seems if there is any hardware from Iran it will not be publically announced.

IRAN WILL SUPPLY ARMENIAN ARMY WITH FUEL AND FOOD

Armenia and Iran do not have a definite plan of military cooperation,

stated the minister of defense of Armenia Michael Harutiunyan in

Yerevan on November 8. "We do not have a program of cooperation yet,

and additional study is needed. After shaping a common approach to

it we can define the directions of military cooperation," stated the

Armenian minister of defense in a news conference with the Iranian

minister of defense.

Michael Harutiunyan said the main direction in the military cooperation

between Armenia and Iran is rear supply, ARKA reports. "Iran is our

neighbor, and we must supply our rear through Iran, and it will be

of great use for the Armenian army," stated the Armenian minister

of defense.

For his part, the Iranian minister of defense Mustapha Muhammad Najari

said during his official visit to Armenia the sides outlined military

cooperation, and already a good relation is shaping in the rear. He

said supply of fuel and food for the Armenian army has been foreseen.

I think its just a political game to show that Iran is not evil. Iran is and has been a good neighbor to us. But I don't think we'll get the tanks. Right now they need all the tanks they have for themselves. Edited by Avo47

Weird as this sounds. If US/Isreal attacks Iran's nuclear sites from Turkish air bases then trust me Azeris are done!!I would love to see Azerbaijan open its air bases to Americans.Iran would love to kick the crap out of Azerbaijan

Here are some possible problems if Azerbaijan gives access to an American invasion via its land:

1) It would mean a closed Iranian border, damaging Azeri economy big time as it will now have 2 major borders closed, Iran being strategic. This will inevitably lead to Iranian support of Artsakh (which Iran has always been backing us secretly because it is to its advantage). And who knows, if Russia is feeling generous, it would close its border in response as well, leaving the filthy Georgians alone with an open border.

2) An Iranian missile shower, don't forget that Iran is a well armed country, it is not the pushover Iraq was (decade of sanctions). Its got all kinds of long and medium range missiles (such as the Shahab-3).

3) Iran has a big Azeri diaspora. It could possibly lead up to an alienment and/or deportation of Azeri diaspora in Iran.

4) Nakhichevan's border with Iran is a DESPERATE lifeline, it is the only thing keeping the occupied territory of Nakhichevan from starving. The Turkish border is too small, it ranges a few km. Imagine if that was shut...

On the use the Turkish airbases, this is again a pandora's box. Turkey and Iran have been getting closer recently due to the Kurdish problem. They cooperate etc and both countries have not been in favor with the States lately.

Anyway these are all possible problems but USA doesn't really need Azerbaijan to invade anyway, its got Iraq and Afghanistan surrounding the country, the Persian gulf and possibly, the Caspian sea. Too many options. But the likeliness of an all-out war between Iran and the United States is pretty unlikely in the near future in my opinion. Too much to lose and the war president's term is almost over, time for the Democrats to rebuild until the next Republican comes along to destroy...the cycle continues.
