hd54321
Hey guys, I found this forum searching on the internet and I figured this would be a good place to post this request. My nshanadz and I are getting married mid-next year and we're looking for wedding entertainment (the wedding will be in Los Angeles). We'd prefer a singer/band and our preference is someone who's lively, young, energetic and can do covers of the popular Tata, Aram A, Harout songs. If they could sing Arabic, even better. The crowd will be mostly western-Armenian. We were thinking of Dark Eyes, but I feel like they're too old and wouldn't be very fun for a mostly young crowd. Harout is our #1 choice, but at $6k+ he's out of our budget. If you have any other recommendations, please reply and let me know. Shnorhagalootyoon. Sip
If you are not going to go with Harut, then get a good DJ. I have been to a couple of wedding recently with a very good DJ (he did my brother's wedding too) and I can tell you he was 1000x better than ANY live band. Live bands (with the exception of Harut) get really boring after the 4th song. If you want his info, shoot me a PM and I'll try to find out from my brother. ExtraHye
Could I also have the information Sip? My co-worker had her wedding last year and her singer was Arno. I thought he was great. Every time he started singing he had everyone there dancing. Very upbeat young guy.

Maral
If you're interested in a DJ,we went to a wedding a few weeks ago...can't remember the name right now...maybe one of you will know he was very unArmenian looking,I was shocked when he started talking Armenian actually...tall,bald,earings,handsome as all heck great style....the music was fabulous....I heard he's expensive but he is so worth it. eta..darn it I can't find anyone to ask them what his name was...but I'll get it for you.... and I agree that hiring singers isn't worth it...you get so much more with a GOOD DJ,they really make the party a party.
