sen_Vahan Posted January 13, 2003 Report Share Posted January 13, 2003 I have recently bought an Arm/english/arm vocabulary here in university bookstore by two ****yan-s.(Hipocrine), an ugly yellow compact dictionary. That they don't give good transcripts there etc is not maybe so important. But in the introduction section they say that arm alphabet consists of 38 letters.Wasn't it 39?Or the authors neglect one I don't know, or maybe it was just a mistake?Does anybody know whether there is any good dictionary arm/english/arm here?Those made in Armenia are very good (at least all I saw) but here for some reason they are very mediocre. It was originally 36, then sometime around the 11th century 3 more letters were added. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong... I have a very nice arm/eng dictionary, but unfortunately it is very old, and many pages are fading. (bad ink i suppose) The new ones I have been able to find here in canada haven't been quite as nice, but they seem to be adequate. Ok, I went there and the first book appearing when you search armenian dictionary is exactly what I was talking about And it has a very high ranking! Harut Posted January 15, 2003 Report Share Posted January 15, 2003 here is a dictionary that i like a lot. it's not like the one you showed where there is one word translation, and that's it. it acctually explains, gives examples in different contexts, and gives all the possible meanings. just like any good dictionary should be.but it's only eng-arm. ============English-ArmenianDICTIONARYEdited byH.
