By the way that other Zara must be Armenian if you listen to her diction of the words.

So it's Zahra?

Either way, I like her.

Zahra? Florette??

I doubt it.

Even if they may think so.

Kurds/Yezidis don't speak Arabic. Maybe Iranic? :P

Just like in Zara Dolukhanian (nee Margarian), I think “zara” is from the Pahlavi “zar” to mean gold, “goldie” is the endearing feminine form. Remember that. “zar” is where our word “tsiran/ծիրան/tsirani/ծիրանի” comes, or goes from, to mean gold/golden/oski/ոսկի. There was a time when Armenians named their daughters “oski”,

” ՈՍԿԻ հայ. ոսկւ բառն է, որ իբրև անձնանուն եղել է հնում, սակայն հիշատակվում 10-րդ դարից: Սովորաբար գործածա-կան է իբրև իգական անուն, թեև տղամարդկանց մոտ էլ ենք հանդիպում: Ժողովրդիի մեջ տարածված է նաև Օ…”

just like the turdish “altoun”. Today you may not find girls named so as it may have been associated with “gold tooth”. :P

I saw many a gold toothed native in Armenia.

Is that what “voskeberan/ոսկեբերան” means ? :D :P :)

Note that it could be also "zahraa' " (notice the double a and the ' ... pronounced with long ah sound and then abrupt end "uh" sound -- note, I said sound and not pronounciation of "uh" ... the same sound you make when you say է or ըթ) and not necessarily zahra , and maybe she just changed it to zara ...

zahraa' زهراء

zahra زهرة

Zahraa' is common among non-Arab Muslims too . I am told Yezidis are not Muslims (donno if it's true ) , but still it is possible that it has come from that ...
