Rabiz speak

Boghos

Recommended Posts

I was brought up speaking Armenian Marash dialect, but it really evolved to standard Western Armenian devoid of its most recent Arabic influence, like no yallah .

I am quite curious about rabiz speak and also other popular forms of Armenian used all over the place. I suspect there is some kind of gansta hayeren as well ?

Boghosinho, I remember, while I was waiting around the porch in front of that church in Kayseri, there was an older Armenian lady who greeted a younger male (about 30's), saying "bolosum"... I couldn't figure out if she was saying "Boghos'um" (my Boghos) or the guy's name was, well, "Bolosum"... And the "l" sounded like "l" to me, not guttoral at all... Is that because I couldn't detect it or because this is Western Armenian we are talking about?
