Those books and booklets are sold in the bookstores, book stalls, distributed during the campaigns and given to the passers-by out of charge. “Some words and phrases are changed in the booklets of one of the sects. For instance, “undeserved kindness” is used instead of “gift” or “divine” instead of “God”, Ter Shahen Hayrapetyan, bishop of St Sargis Church told A1+. In his words, while using the word “divine” instead of “God”, that’s to say using an adjective instead of a noun, the whole meaning is changed. False Bibles don’t have signs and signatures which lead the public to confusion, and many think these books are published by the Armenian Apostolic Church. In order to avoid suchlike false Bibles Ter Shahen Hayrapetryan advises, “If you don’t find the blessing of the All-Armenian Catholicos His Holiness Garegin the Second in the book or if the book is not printed in one of the Archbishop’s universal publishing houses, these factors are already a serious peril for the whole public”. To note, according to the verified data, over 300 – 350 thousand Armenians profess various sects. According to the board dealing with the issues of religion and national minorities, there are 56 registered religious organizations in Armenia. Boghos Posted February 14, 2007 Report Share Posted February 14, 2007 (edited) There are countless versions of The Bible because they are all translations.Versions for kids, translated into simple language, version for hagarag, etc...there was an interesting article in a recent New Yorker about it.Stupid Armenian clergy worried about versions of The Bible, I don´t see anybody worried about transaltions of Grimm´s tales, Snow White or Cinderella. The quality of our disgraceful clergy has improved but we still get this dinosaurs.Maybe they want to keep the economic benefit of the imprimatur, but there are much more pressing subjects. I guess it takes some people a little longer to catch on with the news. The fact that there are “false bibles” was broadcast on CNN, Fox and all the electronic and news media 2000 years ago. It took some of us all that time to finally kind of understand the “message”. There may be many versions but the best known ones are the ”false” , aka OT and the “true”, aka NT. Besides the fact that the former is collection of legends, fables and outright lies look what is said in three separate passages. We willvome to that. In the meantime. Why are such ridiculous stories like Noah, remember it rained 40 days and 40 nights, the dtory of David and Goliath, that of Samson are part of it but Sasuntsi David and the Shahnameh are not, which are more fantastic? And that biggest lie of them all, the Exodus, once again note that they wandered in the desert for 40 years. As to different versions, look below. The first was manufactured for domestic consumption while the other two were intended for export. And, guess who were those suckers to buy bought them, no questions asked, caveat emptor-buyer beware?, swallowed hook line and sinker so much so to choke on it and croak. So now, after all these years, we finally realize that there may be different versions, false and true, we are trying to lock the barn door after the horse is stolen?
