The mysteries of linguistics!!Life is full of ironies. How would such a negative term, to strike, to smite, to exploit end up being a blessing??? Wealth? Prosperity? Comfort? Free of deprivation and need? While the origin of the word in itself infers oppression, deprivation and exploitation, of the more powerful taking advantage of the lesser.Which brings to mind two words that have stuck to the original premise."Harstutyun", besides being a noun based on the verb and adjective as you describe, has eneded up to mean "dynasty" as in "Bakratunyatz Harstutyun". Now, in the light of what you write it is easy to see exactly what it stands for, i.e. Bakratuni Oppression, exploitation. Feudal lords exploiting the peasantry. This will bring us to the other word, "harstaharel", this is even more curious as it is redundant, i.e. using the same root of "harvatzel", to strike twice, once at the onset and again at the end.Shirag, your post is a real... "HIT/harvatz".
