Welcome to the official site of the Union of Armenian Noblemen!

The history, traditions and cultural heritage of Armenia are strongly linked with the Armenian nobility. The nobility traditionally played a mobilizing and leading role in the Armenian society, and greatly contributed to the preservation of Armenian national values, promotion of patriotism and the struggle of Armenians people for freedom.

This project is an attempt to familiarize the general public with the history and traditions of the Armenian aristocracy as well as to inform about activities of the Union of Armenian Noblemen. It also aims to involve the descendants of the Armenian noble houses and those

genuinely interested in the matter in the revival of the best traditions of the Armenian nobility and our ancestors, as well as in the discussions on the relevant contemporary issues. We are confident that our humble contribution to the preservation, restoration and promotion of history, culture and traditions of our people will be productive. We will ensure that the most precious jewels of our history - preserved, revived and enriched by our efforts - will be passed to future generations to come. We expect our youth to perceive this great and noble initiative with utmost attention, inspiration and a sense of duty.

This site will be regularly updated; its materials and documents will be amended and enriched by new information. In this regard, the Union of Armenian Noblemen would be grateful for your active participation in the collection and analysis of information pertaining to the Armenian nobility and the descendants of noble houses.

Being proud of our past, we shape our future.

I wish you pleasant reading.

Grand Duke Gevorg Pirumyan

Chairman of the Union of Armenian Nobility

I found the webpage very interesting; however the surnames (any names for that matter) are a very misleading indicator of any "blue blood". 90% of Armenian surnames have been in a constant change, not only due to adopting the name of a spouse, but for historical reasons. For example before arriving to my present surname my ancestors were Petoians, Arzumanians, Garabedians, etc...and I'm pretty sure that's very common among most of the Armenian families.
