I can't believe that I watched the whole thing (well, on and off). Movses, what are your thoughts about the music video "Mayrig"? I don't want to begin my rants, but if that video and music is what I think it is about, then shame on the award committee for giving "Best Video" to "Mayrig". Those kids were exploited - in the video and in the awards yesterday. Haven't people heard of privacy laws? How dare they write those orphans' name in the video. They are small, they don't yet understand, but what will happen to them when they grow up and understand how they have been exploited in the name of entertainment and show business? Actually, there was an older girl who didn't look too comfortable up there on the stage. Movses, the idea was not very good. At the end they said that these kids are very well supported... Well, what about the rest of the thousand plus orphans that they give the statistic to in the video. Are they well supported? Yes, Nune was OK... about Sirusho, I was really impressed with how much she improved recently. That performance was one of the best of her that I've heard. She's not much of a singer but she resembled one yesterday. And Lusine is simply very beautiful and elegant. I think she just mistook the music awards for beauty pageants. And I think those dresses were designed by Armenian designers, they were very unique. I'm sorry, I can't recall Nune's song at the moment. Proud EXPAT Posted December 16, 2005 Report Share Posted December 16, 2005 Guys we have a long way to go before we live up to our claims of being so talented. 80% of the stuff we heard live or so called live when singers were lipsyncing were boring ballads. Bravo to a few artists for doing some sort of work rather then singing someone elses songs and not even having a voice. If a singer is going to sing someone elses songs than he or she should be working on other aspects of her or his career, maybe appearance or show or interview skills or bettering the voice. In this case we have talented artists such as Andre, Hasmik, Shushan (which was not even nominated for ANYTHING), and only a couple of others. The show is getting better year after year, but for God's sake, everything is not about the Yergi Petakan Tatron. In all honesty, how many singers were there in that show that won an award or performed that have not graduated from that jangotac school? Gor-Gor not sure who etc is but from those 3 Armine one for Best Style. Not sure what Style has to do with Music Awards and why there were no awards for Best Composer or Arranger and so on.
