AZERIS ASSAULTED ARMENIAN SPORTSMEN

A fight between the Armenian and Azeri sportsmen took place During the youth world karate championship held in Cyprus November 11-13.

 

During the opening ceremony the sportsmen of the Azerbaijani national team, who were 3-4 years older than the Armenian sportsmen, assaulted the Armenian team. Fortunately the guys could defend themselves. The World Karate Federation disqualified the Azerbaijan with the term of one year.

 

On the occasion chairman of the Armenian Karate Federation Grigor Mikaelyan will render a press conference tomorrow.

These issues will begin to be resolved when the "Big Elephant " in the room is acknowledged, namely the historical and present treatment by Turkey and its predecessor of its minorities. There is little in Armenian-Azeri relations that is not impacted by the "Elephant" in the "room" and in the region.
