Arpa
Is Paris Burning? Not only Paris but dozens of other French cities. Paris has been nicknamed the City of Lights, but what is going on now is a little beyond light. Paris, The City of Lights; http://www.pbase.com/dellybean/paris The book and movie below is about when Hitler ordered the city be burned to ahes. Is Paris Burning? book and movie http://movies2.nytimes.com/gst/movies/movie.html?v_id=25423 That was not the first time or the last. Many have tried to burn the city out of existence going all the way to the Huns, the Mongols, the Moors and even Turks who came so close to her gates. Obviously they all failed as Paris is still the City of Lights. At the present he “light” illuminating the skies of Paris is a little different from the torches of all the above, this torch did not go to Paris on horseback, or even on the Panzer tanks, it got there via a passport and a visa, sometimes without either. It is reminiscent of the times when the skies of Los Angeles, Chicago and other cities were, and at times they still are, being lit by torches as well. They asked the blind person how he knew the quality of the merchandise, he said; “By its price”. Cheap is not always cheap. Americans learned, are learning this lesson the hard way. Some 300 years ago they thought they had the solution to cheap labor, they imported, bought, stole Africans to do the menial labor that the “fat Americans” were reluctant to do. Creating a mess that has not yet been resolved. In the meantime America became a superpower as the Anglos could afford to concern themselves with the more noble professions, like making bigger bombs (?) J. Some of the repatriates in Europe, London Paris, Berlin and other cities may have had an inherent right of immigration as many are from former colonies of Africa, the East, the Middle Eat and Turkey. Yet, as long as these “guests” kept their heads down, swept the streets , cleaned the toilets and even tilled the earth the Londoners, Parisians and Berliners were getting fatter and becoming world powers in their own turn. Things move faster now. It took the African American 300 years to finally stand up question the status quo, it took the European “guests” a fraction of the time to stand up. Cheap labor is not so cheap after all. What’s for us in all this? At one time Yerevan was nicknamed the City of Lights, when it plenty of electric power fro Metsamor, enough power “to burn”. After a period of total darkness it is once again getting to that point. It is the wish of many of us that Yerevan become a hub of hi-tech, that all the citizens become middle class and “fat” It is not such far fetched dream, it may happen sooner than we anticipate. Yet when that happens, when everyone is PhD, a wealthy merchant, a politician and a professor, who is going to sweep the streets, dig ditches, build highways and wait on customers at those posh hotels and trendy malls? Where do we get the “cheap labor” from? Don’t tell me!!!
Marseliatsi_M26
Paris is not burning !!! CNN special correspondents should be ashamed of themselves. They give such a distorted image of the events. They just want to take revenge on France's decision not to take part in Iraq war. Therefore, everything is accentuated. Shame on them ! The situation is much more dangerous in the suburbs of LA, NYC or Chicago. As far as i am concerned, my life hasn't changed. I live in the second largest French city and i can go anywhere at anytime, there is NO danger ! It took place in some cities but there are 36 000 cities and towns in France. Accelerated
We spoke with relos from Lyon a couple days ago and they didnt even know there was any rioting! Seems like the French media has been muffling these events as much as the US media has been exagerating it.

I don't think so, i suppose your friends in Lyon are just cut from civilization There are riots, and all the media (french/US/European or Arabs) are exagerating too much about it. These riots are mostly the work of gagns who have nothing else to do, and if it spreads in other french towns, it's mostly to show off like "we can do better". Those youngs are not integrated, it is true, they don't have work also.. BUT.. They also don't WANT to be integrated and do not want to work! As Marseliatsi says, it is a lot more dangerous in the suburbs of LA, or NY than Paris..

Marseliatsi: I don't even want to listen to the news in America and that goes with most of the papers as well. CNN is notorious for that too. What you hear in the news and the papers in here is what they want to put it. Mostly it's Jewish media and or propaganda. The only one I don't mind is the New York Times. That's it. Otherwise if I want to hear real news I go to the British media and or British papers. At least most likely they don't lie or grossly exagerate it. I totally agree with you. The United States is not what it used to be as I am sure the whole world knows it by now. It's a totally different U.S. Deteriorated a greeeeeaaaaaattttt deal.
