His music has always been very dear to my heart but I catch myself getting more and more attached. I am not sure why. Is he really that great of a composer or is it just nostalgia? He did write most of the music for armenian movies (I love and cherish) ... so that could be it - association. There is just so much "karot yev taxits" in his music ... it just speaks to one's soul. Are you familiar alongside his movie/pop music, with his classical compositions?? Try to hear his Trio for Violin/piano/cello and ESPECIALLY the second movement.If there would be a definition for takhids in a "musical"dictionary i think this movement would be near the top of the list.As much as I know Mansuryan is presently the Director of Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan. It is about six years old and the OS is not high enough when I get a new one then I can download some music. In the meantime ,has anyone got any other links where I can download some of his stuff? He is one of my most favorite composers (not only because he is Armenian). And I agree with you - there is a lot of "taxits" in his music. "Nocturne" is a shining example. To name a few - "Mer Mankutyan Tangon" (Our Childhood Tango) "Hin Orer@ Yerg@"(The Old Days' Song) "Ktor M@ Yerkinq" (A Piece of Sky) ...I think you can get "Ktor M@ Yerkinq" and "Mer Mankutyan Tangon" with subtitles.
