hytga
i used to have headaches, from smoking, staying hungry for an hour and maybe because i had an incident involving my head and a solid object when i was like 12. Or maybe it's age related, (around the time when i was 17-21). Anyway, quarter of a cofee cup of squized lemon was always a lifesaver, even when tylenol and other medicine didn't do the job quite well. EDIT: coffe cup for the armenian style cofee Edited September 23, 2005 by hytga

ExtraHye
extra, is that a mouse holding a mini ak? style_images/master/snapback.png What Azat said. How do you know a migraine is a migraine and not just a headache. My head has been killing me for two days now and its not going away. But then it's not just my head but my eyes and side temples too. Takoush
Dear Anoushik: How's your migrane lately. Has it become better? I didn't hear from you for the past few days and I am hoping that it has gotten better. Write back please and let us know how you're feeling. OK? Bakersfieldian
Enough with the vodoo already.... As someone who's suffered from severe migraines for many years, I've learned what works and what doesn't (both legal and not so legal). The only "legal" combo that I know works is ibuprofen (400-800mg) combined with cafeine (50mg minimum). Worthless: Naproxen Sodium, Tylenol (unless combined with an opiate and cafeine), aspirin. So.... Take 2-4 advils, drink a large cup of coffee (or smaller Armenian coffee), drink plenty of water, and rest in a cool/quiet place. Learning self hypnosis is also extremely beneficial. Bakersfieldian
Another thing that works for taking the "edge" off of the pain is a really vigorous message. If you have anyone who will do that for you, don't let them go.

Sirov, Anahid style_images/master/snapback.png Dear Anahid, thank you for caring. I feel better today. Yesterday, almost half of the day (starting in the morning) I had headache. It started without any auras and at first the pain was all over the place. Then it subsided to only one side of my head and stayed that way. It was a bit manageable, compared with last week. I had to be away from home and spent my time in cars (thankfully I wasn't driving), and had planned to come home and sleep around 4 when my friend called and suggested coffee. Then it hit me that I hadn't had any coffee for a complete day and a half. Maybe that's why I got a headache! Anyway, a trip to the local Starbucks seemed to be a cure

Harut
while we are on the subject... when i have headaches, which come in different shapes and magnitutes, i also get a toothache... one way of getting rid of it is putting my thumb on my tooth and pressing it for a minute or two... seems to be helping... is this normal, or i'm about to die? (I don't need anyone at this moment. Just my prescious bed. I'm off to sleep. I hope to get at least some six and a half hours of sleep tonight. Hopefully I can keep the migraines away. PS. i should probably invent a painkiller based on lemon juice Edited September 28, 2005 by hytga

Takoush
anoushik, haven't you heard the saying 'time cures'? so... just drink vodka and go to sleep... time will cure... style_images/master/snapback.png You Armenians from AR drink a lot of vodka with dziran. When I went to Armenia a while back, I was there for three weeks. Everything was peachy unitil the last day. A family we were visiting gave us vodka with dziran then everything went downward after that for me. The following day I thought I was dying at the ripe age of 18. I was in Moscow at a big hotel for what I thought I was dying from being poisoned. The doctor came, he gave me some medications then within a few days I became better; but I never forget how sick I was for a day or two. Oh well, sometimes things like that happends I suppose especially when you travel abroad and drink the local water. The water and everything was fine until the last incidence though. But in Armenia, my goodness some guys drink an awful lot. Edited October 2, 2005 by Anahid Takouhi
