Before you try anything, there is something you should take. Fish oil, a high potency, like 60% and plus Omega 3, 3 times daily, two times for enteric coating. There are researchs indicating that Fish oil do reduce the frequency and severity of migraine attacks, which is logical, because there are evidences that it does have a mild mood stablisiter effect, like Neurontin, it has anti-depressent effects like SSRI, and has some of the qualities on the hearth that beta blockers have... without the side effects, it would be logical to believe that it acts on the same parametters that those medications act on. Never know.

Exercise, fish oil and cocoa are good for boosting all health indicators - ALL. :)

I guess I would be summing up what everyone else has said if I proposed you seek the source of the problem and try mitigating rather than covering it up with pain relievers, which only make you ignore the pain temporarily. I'm not very keen with aromatherapy, and I think it would have temporary effects, too.

I would strongly urge you to try consuming as many herbal extracts as someone with experience would find relevant to your problem. Watch out for doses, interactions, and possible allergies, so that they are not harmful. Boost your health indicators with healthy, wholesome foods. Take a spoonful of Swedish Bitters everyday - and make a habit out of these, as you have brushing your teeth a habit.

My way would be to check with a specialist but avoid their medications if I can with more "traditional" means and elixirs if they are successful with diagnosis. I know from my cousin's experience that she suffered terrible headaches as a child due to her sinusitis, and no medication gave her relief for very long. In the end her mother applied Ecballium elaterium on her and she has been headache-free since.
