Mine is so solid that it won't batch no matter how much you try to push. The basement does take water but I installed a second emergency sub pump but the main one does a good job. You will only see the actual water if it rains hard none stop for two days. It did happened few times and that's why I installed the second pump. Most modern built houses have good drainage but old houses like mine built in 1895 does not have it.
