Vanadzor To Mikoyan?

Note I had to question some of the facts presented below by a (sic) in some places.

Can everyone see the Armenian text below?

The article is from Azg Daily. The title is: The reader is against renaming Vanadzor to Mikoyan.

 

In a nutshell, there apparently has been a proposal in Azg July 14 to rename the city of Vanadzor (which incidentally was named Kirovakan before the independence) to Mikoyan in honor of Anastas. The reader having read the article by Rubwn Badalyan, “The Best Manager During a Crisis” admits that both Anastas, but more so his brother Artem are an honor to the nation, and that the famous musician Stas Namin is Anastas’ grandson, yet changing Vanadzor’s name should be impossible as the city just like Ijevan and Nakhijevan goes into antiquity and has connection to Noah’s Ark. Besides Anastas’ armenophilia is questionable.

Let’s see a bit of history.

In the Lesser Armenia, on the shores of the Black Sea there was a region called Amshen/Hamshen, named for the Prince Amam (sic), they were known as Hamshen Armenians (Hamshenahay) Some of them were massacred during 1915 (sic) and the rest migrated to the eastern shores of the Black Sea, where there already were ancient Armenian communities. Some were left behind and were forcibly Islamized (sic). And so some 6000 them in Ajaria were denied the honor of being called Armenian because they were not Christian and they were given an artificial title as “hamshinli” or “hamshid”. During WWII they were exiled to Central Asia and Kazakstan. A small number of them were living in Krasnodar but they hid their Armenian ethnicity. Where are the others now and who are they?…. They applied to Anastas and asked his assistance to be relocated to Armenia, but that “best manager of crisis” rejected them and verbally insulted the leaders telling them to “Live wherever they have sent you!” and he threw them out of his office. Sero Khanzatian hs written about this, but it seems the editors of Azg are ignorant of this fact. Souren Ayazian has also written about the Anastas’ armenophobia.

ԸՆԹԵՐՑՈՂԸ ԴԵՄ Է ՎԱՆԱՁՈՐԸ ՄԻԿՈՅԱՆ ԱՆՎԱՆԱՓՈԽԵԼՈՒՆ

Կարդացի Ռուբեն Բադալյանի "Ճգնաժամերի լավագույն մենեջերը" հիանալի հոդվածն Անաստաս Միկոյանի մասին ("Ազգ", հուլիսի 14): Անձամբ շատ հարգում եմ Միկոյանին եւ հատկապես նրա եղբորը՝ ավիակոնստրուկտոր Արտեմ Միկոյանին, նրանց բազմաշնորհ սերունդներին: Ի դեպ, ռուսաստանցի հանրահայտ երաժիշտ Ստաս Նամինն Անաստաս Միկոյանի թոռն է: Մենք հպարտանում ենք այդ տաղանդավոր տոհմով: Սակայն Վանաձորը չի կարելի անվանափոխել: Նախ եւ առաջ Վանաձորը հայկական հնագույն տեղանուններից մեկն է, որը Նախիջեւան եւ Իջեւան տեղանունների պես կապված է համաշխարհային ջրհեղեղի եւ Նոյ նահապետի Արարատից իջնելու հետ: Երկրորդ՝ ունենք առավել արժանավոր եւ Հայաստանին առավել պիտանի հարյուրավոր (եթե ոչ հազարավոր) այլ մարդիկ: Երրորդ, Անաստաս Միկոյանի հայասիրության հարցում ամեն ինչ չէ, որ կարգին է:

Անդրադառնանք անցյալին:

Փոքր Հայքում՝ Սեւ ծովի հարավում գոյություն ուներ Ամշեն (Համշեն) գավառ, որն այդպես էր կոչվում շինարար իշխան Ամամի անունով: Համշենի բնակիչներին անվանում են համշենահայեր: Նրանց մի մասը կոտորվեց 1915 թ., մյուսները տեղափոխվեցին Սեւ ծովի արեւելյան ափ, որտեղ վաղուց կային հայկական բնակավայրեր, շատերն էլ մնացին հայրենիքում եւ ստիպված իսլամ ընդունեցին: Եվ ահա Աջարիայի 6000 այդպիսի մահմեդական հայերի մերժեցին հայ անվանել, նրանց համար հորինեցին արհեստական ազգություն՝ համշիլի (կամ՝ համշիտ): Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի տարիներին նրանց մեսխեթցի թուրքերի հետ աքսորեցին Միջին Ասիա եւ Ղազախստան: Նրանց փոքր խմբերից մեկը որպես առանձնահատուկ, "ոչ հայկական" էթնոս ապրում է Կրասնոդարի երկրամասում: Որտե՞ղ են մյուսները եւ ովքե՞ր են հիմա: Հայերի թշնամիները կիրառել են նրանց բնաջնջման բոլոր եղանակները... Հայաստանի եւ քրիստոնեության գիրկը վերադառնալու այդ դժբախտ մարդկանց փորձերն ավարտվեցին անհաջողությամբ: Նրանք ԽՍՀՄ Գերագույն խորհրդի նախագահ Անաստաս Միկոյանին խնդրեցին իրենց թույլատրել վերաբնակվել Հայաստանում, ընդունել քրիստոնեություն, խոսել հայերեն, հովվություն անելու հայրենի լեռներում... "Ճգնաժամերի լավագույն մենեջերը" մերժեց նրանց: Համշենահայերի ներկայացուցիչներին բառացիորեն վռնդեց իր աշխատասենյակից, ասելով. "Ապրեք այնտեղ, ուր ձեզ ուղարկել են":

Այդ մասին գրվել է հայկական մամուլում: Որքան հիշում եմ, գրել է Սերո Խանզադյանը: "Ազգի" հոդվածագիրն, ըստ երեւույթին, անտեղյակ է դրան: Միկոյանի "հայամետ" գործերի մասին մասնավորապես գրել է Սուրեն Այվազյանն իր "Ռուսաստանի պատմություն: Հայկական հետք" գրքում (Մոսկվա, "Կրոնպրես", 1997 թ.):

Mikoyans are from the village Sanahin, not sure why Vanadzor has to be renamed. I vote for the name Vanadzor.

 

 

And another thing about that armenophobia garbage. During Soviet times it was really really hard to show any kind of nationalistic sympathies, this is known at least to those Armenians who lived in Moscow as opposed to some village in Armenia. So for those who came out of your villages nowadays and are trying to dishonor a talented Armenian who achieved something in his life - stop being jealous and get a clue.
