DominO123
Turkish Press Europe Expects Turks To Confess Armenian Genocide First To Join EU: McCarthy Published: 3/24/2005 ANKARA - American Historian Prof. Dr. Justin McCarthy of the Louisville University said on Thursday that Europe expected Turks to confess Armenian genocide first to join the European Union (EU). "Can it be appropriate to join an institution which demands acceptance of a lie as an entrance fee? Can you enter an organization which tells you that you can join it only if you accept that your father is a murderer? Will Turkey enter the EU by telling a lie about its history?... Such a confession will make everything worse," said McCarthy addressing the meeting on "Truth about Armenian Issue" held at the Turkish parliament. During his speech, the American historian explained that the Armenian genocide claims didn't have historical ground. McCarthy said that Ottomans and Armenians lived as friends for years, stressing that this friendship which continued for 800 years was harmed when Russians incited Armenians to revolt against the Ottomans. McCarthy pointed out to the fact that the decision of deportation was taken seven months after the Armenian revolt, stressing that "that was a war, not a genocide." He also stressed that Ottomans were right to see Armenians as an enemy in that period of time. Noting that the documents of the so-called genocide allegations put forward by the Armenian sources were either 'false or biased,' McCarthy said that the Ottoman documents on the issue had sound basis and that the Ottomans didn't fabricate false documents. McCarthy remarked that Turks should oppose the lies told about their ancestors, adding that it was a difficult fight because there was prejudice against Turks. "But the truth is on your side," he said. McCarthy suggested that the academic studies written on the issue by Turks should be translated into English, noting that he knew that Turks were not afraid of the realities. Referring to the schemes of the Armenian nationalists, McCarthy said that they wanted Turks to "confess (committing the genocide) first, but then they will ask for compensation and finally they will demand territory." McCarthy remarked that Armenian nationalists wanted to get lands (provinces) of Erzurum, Van, Elazýg, Sivas, Bitlis and Trabzon and added that he knew that Turks would not give in to that pressure. He said that EU should see the fact that Armenian nationalists didn't want the wellbeing of Europe. "Europeans use genocide claims for their short-term interests," he said. Responding to questions after his speech, McCarthy said that the deportation of Armenians didn't mean genocide. "You can't talk about genocide when 80 percent of the people survive. The number of those who died because of starvation is much more than the one who died being shot... Also the Armenians living in Istanbul, Izmir and Edirne were not deported. In Germany where a genocide was committed, Jews living in Berlin and in other parts, all died...Ottomans were very smart, if they wanted to kill Armenians, 80 percent of the Armenians would not survive...Nobody talks about that, but Russians are more responsible for the killing of Armenians as they maltreated them." In sum McCarthy said that all the deaths were a result of the war. Reminding of the Turks who died because of hunger due to Russian occupation and Armenian revolt, McCarthy said that bloody massacres were committed by the Armenians and this was an indisputable fact and a proven history. McCarthy ended his words saying that the 'Blue Book' included a series of lies and in that respect it was a book based on fabricated documents. gamavor
"Can it be appropriate to join an institution which demands acceptance of a lie as an entrance fee? Can you enter an organization which tells you that you can join it only if you accept that your father is a murderer? Will Turkey enter the EU by telling a lie about its history?... Such a confession will make everything worse," Germans did it and right now are the motor of Europe - politicaly and economicaly! Are you reading this MORON? During his speech, the American historian explained that the Armenian genocide claims didn't have historical ground. McCarthy said that Ottomans and Armenians lived as friends for years, stressing that this friendship which continued for 800 years was harmed when Russians incited Armenians to revolt against the Ottomans. Bullshit! Ottomanized Armenians were forced to live "peacefuly" with barbarian turks! Noting that the documents of the so-called genocide allegations put forward by the Armenian sources were either 'false or biased,' McCarthy said that the Ottoman documents on the issue had sound basis and that the Ottomans didn't fabricate false documents. Boy, those sneeky Armenians should have had agents in every possible diplomatic mission represented in so called Turkey. Also all telegraph workers should also been Armenians that have sent false reports. McCarthy pointed out to the fact that the decision of deportation was taken seven months after the Armenian revolt, stressing that "that was a war, not a genocide." He also stressed that Ottomans were right to see Armenians as an enemy in that period of time. In a War time men go to war and fight - one on one! It is only coward Turks and Americans that are brave enough to fight with civilians. Germans were also right to see Jews as traitors and fifth colomn. Plus, Jews were minority far away from their ancestral lands, unlike Armenians who were inhabiting their OWN lands occupied by the filthy turks. Referring to the schemes of the Armenian nationalists, McCarthy said that they wanted Turks to "confess (committing the genocide) first, but then they will ask for compensation and finally they will demand territory." McCarthy remarked that Armenian nationalists wanted to get lands (provinces) of Erzurum, Van, Elazýg, Sivas, Bitlis and Trabzon You are damn right MORON! We just want what is OURS! He said that EU should see the fact that Armenian nationalists didn't want the wellbeing of Europe. I'm speechless here! I wonder how Armenian nationalist could possibly be aganist the wellbeing of Europe? Our only revenge for the shorsighted European policies is if Turkey becomes EU member! Then the Europeans will appeal in the Armenian parlament for gross violation of the human rights of the Europeans in their own continent! Responding to questions after his speech, McCarthy said that the deportation of Armenians didn't mean genocide. "You can't talk about genocide when 80 percent of the people survive 80% out of 200% is correct! In Germany where a genocide was committed, Jews living in Berlin and in other parts, all died... Not true! Many German Jews were saved by rightous Germans! Elsewhere Jews were saved in a large scale. Danmark, Bulgaria, Yougoslavia (except Macedonia due to Nazi occupation) and other countries saved their Jews. Thousands and thousands of Jews were saved in the Baltics and Scandinavia. phantom22
All this crap is emanating from a paid Turkish government mouthpiece. You can count the academicians toeing the Turkish govt. line in the West on one hand, as opposed to 126 Holocaust scholars affirming the Genocide in the NY Times. DominO123
Quebecer, Do you have a vitae on this clown? Where did he go to school? I believe that he is married to a Turkish woman. Is he part Turkish? How large a stipend do the Turks pay him a year? Where was he born? Now that Weems is dead, he is taking his place. style_images/master/snapback.png Could be that his first wife was Turkish, but that doesn't matter really. McCarthy is a joke, the only lie if there was one, was his lie of trying to give worth to Ottoman statistics of 1912 by claiming they were census, to hide the fact that the last census was taken under Abdul Hamid reign in 1905. Because he knew that Abdul Hamid had an intentional undercounting of the Armenian population. Even thought he denied it. It is even recorded in Turkish sources. Kâzım Kadri for instance writes: “During the reign of Abdul Hamid we lowered the population figures of the Armenians...” He as well add: “By the order of Abdul Hamid the number of the Armenians deliberately had been put in low figures.” In the district of Mus(compromising Mus plain, Sassoun, and the counties of Mus) for example, the Armenian official in charge of the census was Garabed Potigian, who presented the official figures as 225,000 Armenians and 55,000 Turks, upon the insistence of his Turkish superiors he was forced to reduce the Armenian population to 105,000 and increase the Turkish population to 95,000. Lynch himself report similar incidences: “Pursuing our way, we meet an Armenian priest—a young, broad-shouldered, open-faced man. He seems inclined to speak, so we ask him how many churches there may be in Mush(Mus). He answers, seven; but the commissary had said four. A soldier addresses him in Kurdish; the poor fellow turns pale, and remarks that he was mistaken in saying seven; there cannot be more than four ...Such are a few of our experiences during our short sojourn at Mush.” Abdul Hamid has even considered in 1895 during the “census” period, the under evaluation presented to him of 900,000 as exaggeration... but finally they have settled to the figures we know as the Ottoman census. The German chief of staff of the Ottoman Third Army, Colonel Felix Guse, complained that "The Turks knew only poorly their country, on top of that the possibility of getting reliable statistical figures was out of the question." In 1992, Armenian archival documents were published, McCarthy has claimed in a more recent work, that if those were true(they obviously are, because in some region there were even undercount of population when comparing them with his "corrected figures")... it would mean that 250,000 more Armenians died. The liar is trying to save his face. Because those figures were the most precise we ever got, and viewing them suggest that in some instances the original statistics were preserved before Abdul Hamid forced the undercounting. Mind you here that when considering that Armenians were purpously trying to escape "counting" because of the military tax. I am now convinced that there were over 2 million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. But let only take McCarthy figures, and the figures published in 1992. From McCarthys word, if they were true, it would mean that 850,000 Armenians perished. And he prupously excluded Kars, Alexandripole etc. From his own methodology, when including all those losses, we would still obtain a million and over. McCarthy has no crebility, that he is half Turk or not, that his first wife was a Turk or not. The guy recieved ITS and ARIT(Grants from Ankara)... the guy during an ATAA conferences has declared he will be trying to change Turkeys image, in a conference in 1990, he has declared that they're trying to rewrite history. McCarthy want people to believe that the Ottoman purged archives are the only to be trusted, and that the rest are all lies or biased. Besides, Istanbul, Izmir and Edirne were not deported is BS. German documents point to the fact that 30,000 Armenians were deported from Istanbul, and that the rest would be deported. Izmir, the Armenians were about to e deported, when the Germans have threatned to interviene military if it was to happen, because those policies were distrupting the military effort. As for Edirne, McCarthy is spleeping on gasses. The man participate in the Ankara founded Armenian institute that has as aim to deny the genocide, the man participated in a Turkish ministry diplomatic book denying the reality of genocide. The man is a clown who used the same corrective values for both Muslim and Armenians, when the Muslim were purpously overcounted in the East... jumping the Muslim population and presenting Armenians as minorities, this way and by decreasing the survivors on his table, for Muslim, he came with an axagerated mortality leval, even not claimed by Turkish autors. Arpa
McFarty! I like that! I wonder! Once that old fart breathes his last "smelly breath" where will the Turks find another fart to replace him? Furthermore. What makes them think that accustaions of "revolution", "insurgency", "siding with the allies" (read Russians) will put us to shame? In fact, every time they do that it only adds another stripe to our badge of honor, that after a thousand years of attempted subjugation, assimilation and annihilation we were there and still are to rightfully lay claim to our ancestral lands. When has it been shameful to stand for one's right? McFarty and company, try another trick!! We endured a thousand years, we will endure a few more years when the word Turk is but a sory memory and it is exturkminated. Oh! btw, Readers' Digest says Laughter is the Best Medicine, in this case Sarcasm may be the Best Remedy as those SOB clowns don't deserve any better, i.e. what some may call dialogue. Dialogue... my ... We will only talk when they decide to talk sense like intelligent adults. Thye may still think that they are under the protection of Sultan Suleyman. May he RIP, rot in putrification. Edited March 28, 2005 by Arpa

You remember the thread about AHA-BECUM! One man's freedom fighter is another's "terrorist"! Europeans are no less hypocrites as Americans, but at least they have some sense of justice. When in 1870 a Bulgarian revolutionist high jacked the Austrian Danube ship "Radetzki" and accosted at the Bulgarian shore, and started insurgence against the Turks, no one in Europe accused him of "terrorism". Europeans noted the following insurgences against the crimbling Ottoman Empire with compation. A century later when the young people filled the streets and fought against Communism, no one accused them in 'terrorism'. However, those that indanger Judeo-Americanism are called 'teghoghists'! armjan
Only dubmass AMERICANS cannot understand this! One man's freedom fighter is another's "terrorist"! style_images/master/snapback.png it should come as no surprise to you that ppl and organizations they create serve some interest. nearly everyone falls in some category. the ? is which interests does one belong to. u make it seem like those bastard muslim fundementalists are good/innocent ppl till yrs of inconsistent U.S. foreign policy towards the region. nonesense. yrs of inconsistent policy perhaps, but it's a power struggle. everybody and their mama wants a piece, whether it be based on religion/politcs/$/whatever. who cares about what muslim fundementalists reasons are, if it involves killing me/u/us, then we have an obligation to protect ourselves, so we pay top dollar to put them down. this is about one of our most basic needs which is to survive. I think the word kill is over used and ppl have lost what it entails. for them to plot/carry out actions to kill us basically means all non-muslims infidels die. I don't feel the slighestest sympathy when I c an american bullet going thru thier sick/disguisting/intolerant minds. can u imagine someone kidnapping u in your travels abroad to slit your throat in the name of God? it's a cest pool man, choose your side and make sure it wins, that's key IMO. don't u c, those turks killed millions of armenians and they don't even give a hoot b/c the truth/admitting guilt endagers their interests. they don't care about historical accuracy or whats right. pointing out contradictions/hypocracies is good b/c it helps bring accountability to ppl's/organizations actions. But please, don't compare U.S. actions to those of turks. THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT with regards to INTENT, and there should be no confusion about the two. The turks wanted to kill ALL "armenians".
