THOTH, I agree with ya, that its diffrent for diffrent people, but its also an issue for many armos in the World, some say that we have to go back to armenism and say bye to Hristianity which was taken from semits(jewesh) others say that eight ended star is embem of armenizm and Hhrist it's nothin for us.

However, armenism it's a very important part in our anceint history. I was very suprised to meet in modern time so many people who call them selfs-armenists.

arm80 -perhaps I did not completely understand what it was you were asking. Of course my reply was at the same time a joke - and it was serious. I initialy thought you were looking for just a common element among all people who consider themselves to be Armenian. Reflecting on our diversity all I could come up with was the "nose". LOL. But your reply leads me to believe that you are looking for something deeper - more fundemental - such as this concept of Christianity being an adopted religion and there being a more primal - armo-centric/derived one etc. Though on one hand I enjoy such thought and believe that discovery of our pre-Christian traditions will tell us much about ourselves - at the same time I would caution discarding the Armenian Chriatian tradition - as it is also such a part of us/our history - and I would guess that even what we ultimatly may identify as Armo-pagan or Hititte or whatever the agromolation of religious practices early Armos may have practiced - you will find that very much of these beliefs were also adopted from others that early Armos had contact with (as the others will have adopted what they found apealing/relevant from Armenians). This is the way of it I think. And along these lines I do not think it wise to only think of what it is being Armenian in a static sense - we are a moving target and always have been. It is perhaps just this reason why Armenians still exist while many others have perished and gone the way of Neantertal. So the more important question is where are we going - what will we become...etc Our traditions will serve us as they may - why the need to (neccesarily) exclude some of them?

THOTH, Im sorry, you cound't understand what i were askin for, cuz i wrote my past post not clear and good enought.

Let me try again:)))

The Armenism is not a armo-pagon religion. As i was ecplaned by some of arminists., the ancient armos had their own P'ark of God named Huik.

As you know 1700 y. ago armenians accept Hristianity as a State religion. Now some of armos in our days would like to see us as armenist nation, not hritian.

They blame Hristianity for making Armenia so weak and poor country, for example they say that Genocide happened becouse armenians didn't fight turks, bur were praing in the church. Armenizm also have a simbol or (emblem) It's a star of Tigran the Great.

I just wanted to see what people in this forum think about it or may be here are some of armenist visitors who can tell some more info.

arm80 one of the reason why the genocide happened WAS because the Armenians were not fighting the Turks... the chance of survival were greater for those that fighted the Turks... so that statment was right...

As for Armenianism or what ever name... I still don<t understand what this word mean.

Hagarga Bzdig - our King Tigran Mets - was an Armenian.

Some say the he had some distant Jewish relatives, but hi was an Armenian.

We have discussed this star of David in the other topic, star of David was used by others way before then Jews have.

I have many Mexican customers that have jewelry that has star of David in it, some even have star of David and the cross combination, or an anccer and a star of David,

, are this Mexicans Jewish ? no

some of this designs are universal.

do you know what King of the kings meens ?? or what makes a king -> King of the kings ? in ARmenian -> Arqayots Arqa

Mehmet,

In my legal and life practice I have met many idiots, but I have never met an idiot of your caliber and this time I'm absolutely serious.

I don't know what is that obsession of yours with your heritage, but I have to admit that you are very interesting animal.

Your ancestors were Khojas (Moslem priests), in the same time you are Assori(Semite), and on top of that whenever somebody mentions something bad about Jews you react as a scape goat. The pinnacle of your arrogance is that you claim that you are Armenian.

Get over it. No one is perfect and there is nothing wrong of being Semite.

Now back to the topic. Probably you know that there are different stars besides your favorite -David's star.

Who the Hell told you that Tigran the Great was a Jew? Tigran's star was 8 angled (octagrame).

You are such an asymmetric Semite!

P. S. Don't bother to call me asymmetric Armenian, because I'm very symmetric blue eyed Armenian! This forum is fun!

Right !!! In order for you to be once serious, you should first be able to know what, being serious is. That word is totaly unfamiliar to the lawyers.

Really? Even in your "legal" practice? That's hard to believe (sorry, had to take the crack at Lawyers )

But I agree the forum is really fun. Where else would you hear the word "asymmetric" used as insult?
