Stormig
A question about khatchkars and the transition to just an etch on a wall. (Or should that have been the other way around?) Actually, this is not really an art question but just yadda yadda. So, we have free-standing khatchkars.http://virtuals.compulink.gr/armen-yth/pages/stouk.htmhttp://world.std.com/~deanb/dean/current/9.../khatchkar.htmlhttp://www.hyeguide.com/k/k4.shtmlhttp://www.celtoslavica.de/imago/_etschmiadsin.html Then we have those on/embedded in walls and the like. And then there are carvings of crosses.Does the fact that this one: http://www.network54.com/Realm/tofi/astghik.jpg has a whole composition to it make it a khatchkar? It is carved on a boulder (and actually faces northerly)... Or is it disqualified? vava
Hi Stormy, I would love to make a comparison, but the link to your image (http://www.network54.com/Realm/tofi/astghik.jpg) seems to be broken... Thx
