Armen Half-Celt
i somehow got the impression that perhaps the last trace amounts of the bloodline of various now extict people who once co-existed with Armenias, are sort of...assimilated into armenians. i dunno i guess the fact that a number of anceint civs like the Hittes or the hurrians lived in suhc close proximity, to armenian ancestors that they may have intermarried to some degree, ancient Armenians fairly mixed bunch of ancient tribes. and trhe famed Gregory the Illuminator was parthian, and st. vartan was supposedly his descendant right? i ask partially because of curiousity and partialy because i'm wondering if i ahve any parthian ancestors that would give me some incentive to paly as them in Rome:total war...yes i know their emprie was one of the armenian state's traditional enemies...but still...until i get the amrnia mod... I don't see much of a question. There are two theories regarding Makikonians, one is that they were Tocharians who came back to their lands from China the other according to Adonts is that Mamikoneans were Laz hence Kartvelian who had a tribe called Chan (which Khorenatsi thought meant China). Read what I wrote again. Tocharians were an IE people who migrated there around 1000 BC. Mamikon could have been a Tocharian who returned West to Armenia. Ludwig9
Saint Vartan is the grandson of Saint Sahak, who is the a grandson of Saint Gregory the Illuminator. It is true that the ancient Persians empires strenched to the far east, but cosidering that the lineage of Saint Vartan can be traced back to Saint Gregory we have no mention of Saint Gregory is from the regions of China.
