His work relies on the concept to be interesting and not the art itself. It is just the aesthetics of surrealism with no potential to evolve and develope intellectually and artistically. He was able to see beyond what is conventionnally fathomable, and most of his best works are woodcuts, mathematically precise, yet full of vived imagery and possibilities.
