Stormig
I so wish that being physically active could be part of my job, my daily routine, so I wouldn't have to bother with "exercising." But it isn't, so I do. Bleah.
Stormig
Too young to worry yet, but let's see what I already got in my habits. Let's see. I don't smoke. I don't even drive anymore. I always wear seat belts if I'm in someone's car. Usually I walk to work 50 minutes a day. I love learning. I can't live in Utah. Don't smoke anyway, so that's that. I haven't a clue about my cholesterol levels, but see below. I use olive oil a lot. I rarely consume butter unless it's in the meals cooked. I do eat fish about once a week on average. Other than that, in winter, I take fish oil capsules. Says, "Eat nuts. Walnuts, like fish, contain high levels of 'good' fats." I eat a handful of an assortment of nuts every morning for breakfast, along with dried and fresh fruit. Walnuts, pistachios, pine nuts, almonds, peanuts, hazelnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds (all raw, btw)... Anything I've missed? I guess I do drink alcohol in moderation. Somewhat aware of familial diseases. I love vacations and could take them every weekend.
Anonymouse
I love how people fear death, like they think they are immortal little fruit flies. I gotta do all that crap to somehow live to be 100? Why 100? Why not 99 or 101? Humans love big round numbers. What if I don't want to live to be 100? What if I just wanna get to 99? Do I have to do all the things on that list except one? That's sounds like an awfully lot of things to remember and fear to 'be 100' sort of like the politics of fear practiced by the Bush junta. I think Dr. Schuster needs to be shot. Edited January 1, 2005 by Anonymouse

What if I just wanna get to 99? Do I have to do all the things on that list except one? style_images/master/snapback.png Yes! For instance, I'm shooting for 99, so I allow myself a cigarette a day! I hope that helped! One of the "most???" beautiful French songs! Edited January 1, 2005 by Siamanto
Stormig
Then go ahead and don't bother to remember to take your gas-guzzling automobile for a regular "check-up" and maintenance and shoot for 9 years instead of 10. You may have taken it a bit too seriously... I guess that Dr. Schuster failed to explain in enough details the following: "Get stress tests..." For the record, American eating habits being what they are, it is very likely that I'm more "fit" than Dr. Schuster will ever be! I eat everything???? with MODERATION and I don't neglect my body...and SOUL - something Dr. Schuster seems to ignore! I enjoy MY life and look forward for a long journey. I live in the city and do not own a car...but I do take care - as if I had a certain respect - of everything that I interact with or own - including myself! Of course, on some occasions, I may decide to "throw away" - i.e. exclude from my life - something or someone. If I understood correctly, Anonymouse was simply questioning the fear of death and a certain "followism!" Myself, I was "questioning/humoring" the religious "presentation" of the "10 commandments!" Are you trying to confuse me or am I naturally confused? Stormed one, i know you have the ability to say ass in many different ways but can you please not use them on the forum. thanks style_images/master/snapback.png "Stormed one??" Azat, I thought that it was "Stormig" not "Storm meg!" Again, are you trying to confuse us or are you confused? The following is a somehow low quality quick translation - but good enough - with some annotations! I wish that I had the time for a more "poetic translation" i.e. express the same emotions and ideas with different expressions, more appropriate to the target language and culture. Just like Aznavour did with "Yesterday!" Also, the Music and his voice are beautiful. I wish I had the CD! According to him, the Voice is essential to Poetry. Do not sing Death, it is a morbid subject The word alone throws a cold, as it is uttered .... [can't be translated literally!] It is a taboo subject... [it is a subject] for a cursed Poet I sing it and the miracle of vowels [make] It seem as if Death and Love were sisters ["miracle of vowels" because the pronunciation of "la Mort" - the Death - is close to "l'amour" - Love. Specially, if you consider the Spanish "amor!"] Death who waits for us, Love that we wait for [Literally, "Love that we call."] And if Love fails to come, Death will always do Mine will not have, as in Larousse a skeleton, a shroud, in the hand a scythe [Reference to an illustration of Death in the dictionary.] But, a twenty year old red haired girl ["chevelure" is hard to translate! "Hair" is the closest that exists in English!] Wearing a wedding veil, She will have everything one needs Large ocean eyes, the voice of an ingenuous The smile of a child, on carmine lips Soft, it will alleviate on her naked chest My burned eyelids, my mouth in parchment Requiem of Mozart and not Danse Macabre [A reference to symphony by Saint-Saens.] .... [can't be translated literally!] Death is Beauty, the bright glow of the saber The mild Penthotal of the spirit and the senses [Penthotal is an anti-convulsive, anti-depressive drug.] Do not confuse the effect and the cause [i.e. Death is the effect, not the cause.] Death is deliverance, She knows that Time Every day steals from us A handful of hair and the ivory of teeth She is Euthanasia, the supreme nurse ("infirmiere") ["infirmiere" is not as "clinical" as "nurse!"] She arrives at time, to put an end to this game Next to the wounded soldier, lying in the mud of a rice plantation [Vietnam!!!] Next the frozen old man in a room without heat ["feu" is "fire."] Time is the monstrous tick-tock of the watch [i.e. Time is finite in nature!] Death, is infinite, lasting an eternity [Death is infinite in nature!] But what happens to those who are impatient to meet Her? [i.e. those who commit suicide] As we earn our life, shouldn't we deserve Her? [A negation of suicide i.e. we should not rush towards death??? ]

Arpa
Hey you guys! Are we retarded or what!!?? I don't know what book you have been reading. A mere 100 years? What a pittance!! Look how we are being cheated!! Obviously, you have not been reading that BOOK, that BOOK of LIES that some may call the Bible. If you were so kind to read it you would learn that Noah lived to be 300 years old. Sarah coceived Isaac at the age of 96, Enoch was born of Jared when the latter was 169 years old and Methuselah, son of Enoch, grandfather of Lamech and father of Noah lived to the young age of 969 years. Don't take my word for it. Check Genesis 5: 21-29. > Gen.5 > > 1. [21] And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: > 2. [22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: > 3. [25] And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech: > 4. [26] And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: > 5. [27] And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died. And please don't tell me that they computed chronology on a defective abacus. A lie is lie no matter who tells it. And as Armenians, while we believe all that trash as the "Gospel Truth" unfortunately no one believes our own LIES but us.
