Does anyone know about the source of the word Kavat (գաւաթ in Armenian)? Does it come from the Arabic word kahwat (but since Armenians don't have w, so kahawat became kahvat?)?

Yes, I knew Lola and her poetry blog. I didn't know she was Harry's daughter. I don't know about Steve Sim. Any relation with the Armenian Evangelicals? As for the word Presbyterian, the Armenian word is Երիցական. Ժողովական is the word for congregational.

William Saroyan's father was an Armenian Presbyterian (evangelical). Although this was surprising to me at first, but then again, there was an Armenian Presbyterian Church already established in the USA in the 1890's. Another person who is famous is Mr. Harry Koundakjian, the famouse photographer in Associated Press, who recently lectured in the "Lsaran" of Aztag newspaper.

Mr. Yervant Kassouny was the Editor in Chief of the Chanaser magazine, the publication of the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East. Mr. Zaven Messerlian is still the prinicpal of the Armenian Evangelical College. I think he's got a record there! Don't you think so? He has many lovers and supporters all around the world. As for William Saroyan, if I'm not mistaken, he was the speaker at the graduation ceremony of Haigazian University in the 70's. I heard that he was a modest man and talked to everyone. Louise, I meant that the name of the website did not change. What changed is the design and the arrangement of the different sections. The interviews are still there. They are found in the Հարցազրոյց sections, on the left column, just "SUB MENU".

Johannes, where and what did you read about him. I am interested to read more about him too. Do yo have references or links to articles about him, his life and his work? I know that he has written his memories in his book, which got published. I will tell you the title of his book, if you don't have it.

Sako, camps are great ways to make a difference in the lives of the youth. The time spent together means a lot to the kids and the youth and they return filled with hope and most would want to continue the camp further. The impact of your life and love poured into the life of the armenian kid will leave its mark on you and you will not be able to forget what God was able to do through you. That is a great time to get to know the kids and you can continue to support them afterwards. This is great, I never thought I'd find someone who participates in camps as a couselor

Gomidas was considered a trouble-maker during his life, but later on after his death, he became a genius. Father Vrtanes Yeznagian wasa considered a trouble-maker during his life, who later on became one of the pillars of the reformers of the Mother Church. I don't know much about Der Vazgen, but he is working and is reaching the youth, who have left the church, their church. It's good to hear that you are serving in your Church, and that you are reaching your fellow armenians in Armenia.

From what I see in their website is youth who are present in their church, which is seldom seen in the Armenian Apostolic Churches, and the rest of the Churches. But since I'm asking about the Armenian Apostolic Church, I was amazed to see youth in the Church where Der Vazgen serves. What kind of problems did he cause? I don't find anything problematic in creating an organization. Moreover, isn't it like in the Mother Church, where the higher priest can control and perhaps relocate the priest, serving under his parish? I, personally liked his way of going out of the self-serving church ways, and going out into the community and reaching the needy and talking about the problems within the community and church, and working to solve, and reach out to the people, to the youth, to the community. Much of our Churches (catholic, evangelical, apostolic) have become self-serving "organizations", where people go/attend. However, the Church has to come out of its nice and comfy seats and into their communities and reach out.
