No, I have no problem with it. In fact it would be in the best interest of Armenians to create a political block with Assyrians, Greeks, and Palestinians.
-
I think the entire concept of uniting with the oppressed people under the Ottoman government would be a great idea, however, keep in mind that the political alliance will not end at genocide recognition. Meaning, if you champion the Assyrian cause then you should also be willing to push for a Assyrian state in Iraq, while if you champion the Greek cause then Armenia and Armenians should also be willing to support Cyprus on the international stage. Honestly, I support both people, but I don't know if many Armenians will support Greeks and Assyrians. Which begs the question, would Greeks and Assyrians support Armenians and would it be in the interests of their lobby to do so?

NO, Armen, it has everything to do with the article. I resent the fact that the author tries to make the Jewish "struggle" the equivalent of the Armenian, Palestinian, and Kurdish struggle for self determination when the Jewish state directly hinders the progress of Armenians, Palestinians, and Kurds on an international level. Therefore, I feel it is an insult to parallel the progress of the Jewish state with that of the Armenian people. The Jewish state is a fabricated state, while the Armenian nation is a legitimate nation, there is no comparison. I would rather sound "redundant" then bite my tongue for the sake politics. By making excuses and justifications for the actions of Israel, you are also making excuses and justifications for the actions of Turkey, there is no difference, the arms sold to Turkey via America via Israel are still the same arms that threaten the sovereignty of the Armenia and Armenians.

Armen, I did read the article attentively and I am "dumbfounded" as to how the superpowers exploited Israel and the Jewish people? How are they "victims"? There not, after WW2 Zionist dumped Jews in the middle of Arabs and called it Israel, I don't see the victim connection nor do I understand how they were exploited. IF anything Palistinians were exploited and would be the equivalent of superpowers dumping Azeris' in the middle of Artsahk and calling it Azerbaijan. What right do they have to dictate boundaries? They don't have the right and if the "boundaries" of Palistine were "indefinite" then, then equally, the boundaries of Azerbaijan are indefinite today, meaning, Artsahk is a part of Armenia and anyone who says otherwise is a hypocrite. However, my half ass analysis omits important facts that need to pointed out. Nations are not dictated by "boundaries", meaning, boundaries are only created to push forward the agenda of the forces that created them, therefore, true boundaries are dictated by people. Armenians have been living in Artsahk for MANY, MANY years before Azeris' moved in, therefore, they have the VERY legitimate right to separate from Azerbaijan. On the other hand the same can not be said of the Jewish state. Prior to WW2 there were no Jews in Palestine and therefore, their "struggle" to recognize Israel as a legitimate nation is no different then the "struggle" of Turks to be recognized as a legitimate people, with their own identity. Both are false and both committed genocide in order to achieve this end. If the author is referring to the creation of the Jewish state as a satellite state in order to increase the reach of the west, then yes, that would be "exploitation" only if the "exploited" population was not aware, but we do know that the Jews, specifically, Zionist wanted the to create a Jewish state as much as the west wanted a satellite. Therefore, in this context I do not see the creation of Israel as a "exploitation" nor do I see Jews as “victims” because a true "victim" as defined by Webster, who incidentally could have been a Jew, is "a person cheated, fooled, or injured". Now, in your honest opinion, what groups of people were "cheated, fooled, or injured"? Palestinians or Jews? Palestinians, I rest my case, have a good weekend!

I find it VERY sad that out of the countless human rights violations Israel has committed towards the Palestinians you still support them and worse, make excuses for them. How much of the 400 billion dollars in respirations has gone towards making the world a "better place"? None, their "elite" media moguls are arms dealers, while the so-called "fair and balanced" media only exploits world issues to make Israel a better place. Their movie revenue goes towards leveling Palestinian neighborhoods, while the arms they sell are used against Armenian villagers defending their lands against the combined Turkish and Azeri aggression. On top of this, they are as nuclear capable as any superpower. By the way, on whose authority are they stockpiling nukes because they sure as hell have not signed any nuclear treaty? Jews, the American government, and Turks are all hypocrites; they point fingers at others when they should pointing fingers at themselves. Let’s be honest with ourselves, if they were not at the seat of power your "tolerance" towards them be minimal if not non-existent. Stop making excuses for them, as an American I have the right to criticize the actions of Israel because my tax dollars goes towards funding their desert wasteland. Ten bucks says, this guy Danial Schnieder is a Jew. Furthermore, I don't want him to "connect" his own peoples so-called illegitimate "struggle" with the very legitimate struggle of the Armenian people, our martyrs deserve more then being connected to a government that uses the AG to push forward their own agenda forward. In closing, Vava, we don't need more Norair Tanielyans'.

Turkish news agencies will most likly put a spin on this... "Armenia stops Turkish schalor from exposing the truth behind 'so-called' genocide!"
-
Jews are not "stateless" people. A nuclear capable nation with nuclear subs is anything but "stateless". A nation that is the world’s top arms dealer has no right to play the "victim" of the superpowers. If anything, Israel has been the exploiter of the superpowers. Furthermore, comparing the plight of Armenians and Palestinians to those Jews is a stretch. Armenians and Palestinians struggle for their right to exist on their ancestral lands they have lived eons before the imperialistic ambitions of the west and Israel. No superpower has a right to dictate the geographic and historical boundaries of a nation. Conclusion, this is just propaganda for the masses. Once again, Jews are trying to connect their "plight" with those of the Armenians and Palestinians, the only true victims of genocide in the 20th century.

Think about it, the FBI exposed a secret Armenian “terrorist” cell that had gone underground for 20 years, but turns a blind eye towards the criminal actions of Arnon Milchan. Milchan bankrolls Israel via Hollywood blockbusters, schmoozing with big name celebrities and therefore, is not hard to track. Which begs the question, why are they after small fish like Topalian? There not, so what are they after? Could this all be politics and cheap attempt to ridicule the Armenian cause? Yes and if so, logically who would be involved? *cough* Axis of good *cough* To sum it up, what we spend at the theaters goes towards supplying Israel with Arms. Once the weapons are obsolete, they are sold to Turkey and then to Azerbaijan via Turkey. I am omitting the fact that Israel, a country as small as Armenia, is among the top weapons manufacturers and distributors in the world. They do work directly with Azerbaijan and did supply them with new military gear during the Artsahk/Karabagh war. For the sake of objectivity, the Americans, English, French, and Russians all profit from ethnic conflicts around the world and use them as tools to push forward their geopolitical agenda, I am not arguing this point. Rather, I am dumbfounded as to why Topalian is being targeted, while the actions of Milchan are ignored.

Turkey and the Arms Trade 1998 - 2002

Many weapons are also sold to Turkey. These have been used against the Kurds, in what some have described as the worst human rights violations and ethnic cleansing since the second World War. The US turns a blind eye to these atrocities because they are able to set up bases in such a key geopolitical location, giving access to places in the Middle East, and because Turkey could be one of the main receivers of oil headed to Western countries, from the Caspian sea. Israel-Hollywood nuclear connection Capture of fugitive revives case involving famed producer By Robert Windrem MSNBC NEW YORK, July 27 — A fugitive U.S. defense scientist wanted on charges of smuggling nuclear weapons components to Israel is under arrest in Spain, a development that could prove a major embarrassment for both Israel and a billionaire Hollywood producer. Richard Kelly Smyth, a retired 71-year-old aerospace scientist, was arrested July 10 in Malaga and now awaits extradition to the United States. SMYTH, A FORMER science adviser to the U.S. Air Force, disappeared in August 1985 after his indictment, leaving federal investigators unable to prove his role in the illegal shipment of 800 nuclear weapons triggers to Israeli companies owned by Arnon Milchan, a Hollywood producer and industrialist with dual citizenship in Israel and Monaco. Smyth fled the United States five months after being indicted by a federal grand jury in Los Angeles on 15 counts of exporting nuclear arms technology and 15 counts of falsification of documents from 1979 to 1982. Officials at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid and the U.S. attorney’s office in Los Angeles said Smyth was in a Spanish jail while the United States prepared an extradition “package” that would take months to complete. “All we can say is that he is in custody in Spain and we are delighted,” Dean Boyd, a spokesman for the U.S. Customs Service, when asked about Smyth’s arrest. THE HOLLYWOOD CONNECTION U.S. espionage timeline MSNBC Interactive • A look at notorious spy cases in the U.S. Federal officials have long sought a way to revisit the case involving Milchan, whose producing credits include “JFK,” “L.A. Confidential” “Brazil,” “Fight Club,” and “Pretty Woman,” as well as the “Free Willy” series and the Fox television comedy “Malcolm in the Middle.” The 1985 indictment identified Milchan’s companies as the recipient of the nuclear triggers, known as krytrons. Federal authorities told NBC News in 1993 that Milchan also shared in the profits derived from the sales. Krytrons, at the time, were considered “dual use” components — which have other civilian and military applications — requiring export licenses. Internal documents obtained at that time by NBC News from Milco International Inc., Smyth’s company, revealed that he had also exported other equipment to Israel, including chemicals used to make missile fuel. Both the krytrons and the chemicals in question are so-called “dual use” items. But Smyth’s disappearance, and the unwillingness of Israeli officials to cooperate with U.S. investigators on the case, left federal authorities unable to proceed. Nowhere, that is, until Smyth turned up in Spain. The nuclear-armed planet MSNBC Interactive • Click here to see nuclear stockpiles around the world (requires Flash plugin) U.S. officials say Milchan has no exposure to any smuggling charge, as the statute of limitations on conduct dating from before 1982 has expired. However, customs officials, who requested anonymity, said anyone can be prosecuted for obstruction of justice if evidence shows that he or she aided or in any way encouraged Smyth to flee. Because Smyth fled after being indicted, the smuggling charges against him are still active, and no statute of limitations applies. Milchan has denied that he had done anything illegal in interviews with NBC News in 1992 and 1993. Friday, his Los Angeles office said he was traveling and could not be reached for comment in the wake of Smyth’s arrest. ‘ANYWAY I CAN HELP ISRAEL, I WILL’ However, in interviews with both “60 Minutes” and Los Angeles magazine over the past year, Milchan was less circumspect. In Los Angeles magazine, he said: “Let’s assume that there’s nothing that Israel and the United States do separately. ... I’ll say it in my own words. I love Israel, and any way I can help Israel, I will. I’ll do it again and again. “If you say I am an arms dealer, that’s your problem. In Israel, there is practically no business that does not have something to do with defense.” Israel has never publicly admitted that it possesses nuclear weapons. However, U.S. intelligence agencies estimate that Israel’s arsenal is the fifth largest in the world, with about 200 warheads, behind those of the United States, Russia, France and China. The Israeli nuclear issue frequently has caused problems for the United States in its efforts to curb the proliferation of nuclear and ballistic missile technology in other regions and to get nations like India, Pakistan and North Korea to adhere to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Arab states, among others, accuse Washington of a double standard for not putting similar pressure on Israel to sign the treaty, which would require declaring the extent of nuclear capabilities and opening nuclear sites to international inspection. Robert Windrem is an investigative producer at NBC News and co-author with William E. Burrows of “Critical Mass: The Dangerous Race for Superweapons in a Fragmenting World” (1994, Simon & Schuster, New York). MSNBC’s Michael Moran contributed to this report.

Confidential founded New Regency Productions in 1991. The company enjoyed a $1.7 billion windfall last year from the sale of its stake in sportswear maker Puma. Milchan's own background is the stuff of movies. A former biochemistry student and soccer player, he successfully transformed his family's fledgling fertilizer company into a multimillion-dollar chemicals business. Parlayed that into a role as an arms dealer for Israel, which he coyly discussed in a 60 Minutes interview in 2000. (Milchan denies he was an arms dealer but admits to acting as an intermediary between the country and defense contractors like Raytheon.) Began bankrolling films for directors Sergio Leone and Martin Scorsese. Counts among his close friends Shimon Peres, Rupert Murdoch and Robert De Niro. . From Forbes.com

Apparently, NBC is omiting the fact that America is the biggest arms exporter. When the weapons are used against them and their allies it is "terrorism", but when they are used against their enemies it is "rebellion".

In all honesty, I see no future for Armenia as long as Armenians worship the green dollar. Armenia has no resources, no industry, and any attempt to invest in the country is followed by ridicule or talks of corruption. Why would any capitalist invest in Armenia? Where is the profit ? Show returns and you will have a prosperous Armenia or else the fate of Armenia will be the same as the rest of the "free world", specifically, Africa and South America. You will see regime change after regime change, one puppet government after another will exploit Armenians for the geopolitical ends of foreign powers. Conclusion, hindsight is only 20/20, the fall of Soviet Union was also the fall of Armenia, Armenians didn't have the luxuries of the western world, but at least Armenians had a higher standard of living. As long as there is money to be made, whether Turk or Armenian, the green dollar does not discriminate. By the way, I would go into details, but I am done writing. There is no point in writing and like an intelligent board member once pointed out; you end up sounding like a comatose alcoholic, take care. EDIT: Had to delete comments that I feel are off topic.

As I recall the Allies did win the First World War and in fact, did let Turkey swallow the first republic. We didn't have to wait till WW2, we were already screwed. As far as who won the war is concerned, in my opinion it still is the Soviets, to be more specific, the geographic location of Russia and the shear man power of the Soviet army was the nail in the coffin. Historically, Russia has always solved Europe’s problems. The Golden Horde, Napoleon, and various other threats to Europe have always been stopped at Russia. No army stands a chance against the Russian burn policy. I just resent the fact that Americans continually downplay the contributions of Soviet divisions like the Tamanian in order to bolster their Capitalistic ideals. Ever since WW2, the justification of the U.S. foreign policy revolves around "spreading democracy", omitting the fact that if communism/socialism spread they would lose access to global markets. Let us be honest with ourselves, the Soviets contributed far more in terms of resources. Yes, the allies did supply them, but without the Soviet man power they would have lost. This begs the question, why is it ok for Turkey, which was an Axis power and committed atrocities far beyond rape, to participate in the Gallipoli commemoration, but yet the "vile" Soviets should be excluded in WW2 commemorations? Please explain the logic behind this? Oh, wait, could it be politically motivated, a cheap attempt to downplay communism? Yes Conclusion, "those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". Armenians need to stop putting their problems on the shoulders of foreign powers. With that said, I am wondering why Armenia has sent an 80 man team to Israel. I am assuming, begging is now a part of the Armenian foreign policy.

Yes, I am sure you also believe that the decision to level Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the only "bloodless" alternative to invading the Japanese mainland. I just love the righteous attitude of Americans, Russian soldiers raped German women; therefore, their contribution to the war effort should be downplayed. Shaunt, I don’t disagree with you, invading soldiers will rape, loot, and plunder, it is a potent psychological weapon, but please do not use that as an excuse to downplay the contribution of the Soviet army during WW2. They won the war, we didn’t, get over it.

I find this entire discussion amusing, specifically, how Armenians group the actions of the Jews under the blanket of "REAL POLITIKS", but simontatiously, group the actions of holocaust deniers under the blanket of treason and ignorance. Is it me or is there a double standard when it comes to the denial of the Jewish holocaust? Why do we allow the denial of our genocide to be used as a political tool? The only conclusion I have come to, revolves around the Armenian love affair with the United States, apparently, the only way to get in bed with the U.S. is to sleep with a Jew first.

Greed is a desire to obtain more money or material possessions or bodily satisfaction than one is considered to need. A more religious term for greed is avarice, which is listed as one of the Catholic Seven Deadly Sins. Greedy individuals are often believed to be harmful to society as their motives often appear to disregard the welfare of others: if one person is to increase in wealth, somebody else must be decreasing in wealth (assuming, of course, that a market economy is a zero sum game). However, greed has become more acceptable (and the word less frequent) in Western culture, where the desire to acquire wealth is an important part of capitalism. When greed is applied to the subject of the excessive consumption of food or drink the term gluttony is often used, another of the Seven Deadly Sins. Buddhists believe greed is based on incorrectly connecting material wealth with happiness. This is caused by a deluded view that exaggerates the positive aspects of an object.
-
Exactly, everyone's loyalty only extends to the "material benefits" this country provides.

He can stick to his own opinions, but history is on my side. Armenians just have a tendency to disagree for the sake of disagreeing, its our historic trait. It doesn't really phase me, half the time I am misdirecting tanks anyways.

Medya, the first things Kurds should do is decide on a concise ally. Assuming I was a Kurd, I would have a better chance playing Armenians, Syrians, Russians, and Iranians against Turks then vice versa.
