Your sarcasm makes you a major loser. And no I wouldn't necessarly argue that CDs sound better than DVDs. If the main source is recorded at 16-bit / 44.1kHz then it makes no difference if that recording was thrown onto a CD or a DVD (if of course both are burned using lossless encoding/decoding.) But these days most studios are recording at 24-bit instead of 16-bit. Plus up to 192kHz and not 44.1kHz like audio CDs. This means greater dynamic range. An audio CD can not read more than 16-bit / 44.1kHz but a DVD can. DVD-Audio has other pluses such as surround sound capability. Therefore a DVD-Audio can hold greater quality in recordings than an audio CD. And although some would say audio CDs are good enough, there is still a difference in regards to the lack of quality, in particular obvious artifacts in higher frequencies leading to a ringing sound (which you would hear in a CD but not in an analog source such as a record/vinyl) and of course the lack of warmth.

CD Audio is at 1411 kbps (KiloBits Per Second) MP3s in internet swapping are usually between 128-192 kbps. "Acceptable" MP3s are between 128-192 kbps in internet swapping. But depending on how anal you are you can still hear artifacts below 192 kbps in MP3 compression.

Yes we're speaking about actual closeness to the original sources signal. I said over and over again we are not talking about processing, and altering the sound of the source to suit an individuals preference in what a recording should sound like. If you accept the recording the way it is, with compression you will never come up with a so-called "higher quality" you constantly keep on mentioning.

Your beating around the bush bud. Filtering miltering processing mrocessing, we're not talking about that, your logic of compressing to mp3 yet being able to come up with better quality than an ORIGINAL does not make sense. And yes mp3s at 128 suck if you are particular with what you listen to. Many decent digital music players are capable of reading ogg files. Too bad mp3 is outweighing the other great formats out there. A 128kbps ogg will KILL an mp3 at the same rate. It's so annoying when companies like Sony make their own formats for their usual snobby reasons.

Sip the weight of that cheese is getting to your logic. How is it possible that you compress from an original cd and think you can get better results than the actual quality of the cd? There's no logic in what youre saying. FYO -music on original cds are at 1411kbps -mp3s at 128kbps SUCK and do not sound any close to cd audio quality -the lowest I would compress a song to mp3 format is 192kbps nothing less -mp3s SUCK, if you can find a player that plays back ogg files those are top notch, a 128kbps ogg file will sound much better than a 192kbps mp3 which also means it takes up less space, which also means you can fit more on your digital music player

Personal opinion no way he is a joke, but he has a BIG BIG following of a different class. I'm sure he would collect alot of votes because he does pay attention to people from the regions. Who else does right?

He informed that now the issues with the adherents are being discussed; “If we succeed and the party is formed then we’ll take part in the parliamentary elections in 2007,”- he said. I have nothing against Vardan being president. I don't see anyone else who deserves that position yet. Not to say Vardan is perfect but honestly who else is there? Although I can't stand Serge I think his position in the Defence Ministry is perfect for him. Who else could be a better Defence Minister? I would just like to see some changes in the way our soldiers are treated by other soldiers as well as their commanders. It's sad to hear so many negative stories about what goes on in the military. I would like to see the day when kids will love to join the army instead of finding a way to avoid the service.

I know many diaspora Armenians who are not in any way involved in politics who run these kinds of businesses. karakash you mentioned something about a diasporan not being elected but someone close to kocharian such as oskanian or sargsian. ah, isn't oskanian a diasporan? second if sargsian became president, completely completely impossible if there were fair elections, but believe me NO ONE will vote for that idiot. if he became with unfair elections the only thing that will lead to is another revolution in eastern europe.

I'd be surprised if locals voted for Vardan. As decent as he's been and as amazing as he's represented us abroad with his awesome speeches, and as much as locals like him, most locals really like a man who is a little more rougher, a little more kopit really. Whoever I've asked they say Vardan is too nice and soft. Though I've heard a lot of teens say that if they had a choice they would vote for Hovanessian cause they don't trust any more locals ruling this country. Can you believe it? Locals are starting to look towards a diaspora leader. As much as Saakashvilli has done good for Georgia there are lots and lots of people who don't like him for whatever reason. I'm glad his crew is frequently coming to Armenia to build better relations.

Luckily the new buildings being built are usually between 8-12 floors and the odd up to 15 floors. Georgia is already building high rises double in size and sometimes higher, thank God we're not there yet. Apparently, a few, but probably more like a couple, of the new buildings being built in Yerevan are using special shock support (sorry I dont know what the right term for this is) for earthquake safety, a technology not a lot of other countries have yet used but apparently very very affective.

This is good news. Lately there's a lot of action on the governments part to restore old parks with planting trees and so on. This year a lot of trees were planted here in the center of Yerevan, and slowly, but surely, it has become visible that shop owners are also cleaning up the areas in front of their shops/stores with plants and flowers. If we have good summers every year like this year (very hot, but luckily it rained more often than I can remember with previous years) I think this city will stay green(er), and all the trees that have been planted by the government will not dry up.

His nasal voice is annoying but this cd is one of the best Armenian cds I have ever heard. The fact that he has also collaborated with Anna Mailyan is also very cool.

Personally I could care less what we call them, we have quite a few names for them (Masis, Sis, Ararat, etc.), but in all actuality, they are called the Mountains of Ararat, and they are OURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
