This is worrisome because two other temples, also dedicated to Saint Sophia, were recently transformed from museums into mosques. The two churches in question are Hagia Sophia in Nicaea (Iznik), where the first ecumenical council was held, and Hagia Sophia in Trebizond (Trabzon). For the record, with the fall of Constantinople (1453), all of the city's churches were converted into mosques, but with the advent of the Turkish Republic in 1923, the most important monuments were turned into museums. Skylife, the free magazine handed out on the planes of Turkish Airlines, Turkey's national carrier, gives further credence to the rumours about the Hagia Sophia mosque. As an important platform to showcase the AKP government's success to the world, the magazine recently published a long article in English and Turkish to get people accustomed to an already in its planning phase. On the cover, the aim of this idea is clearly spelled out, with an image of the Cathedral of Saint Sophia described as the 'Mosque of the Sultans'. The article emphasises the transformation of the cathedral into a mosque (in 1453) and its subsequent history. The long history of the church before the fall of Constantinople is largely ignored. By carefully reading the article, one gets the idea that the main cathedral of Orthodox Christianity is the highest symbol of Constantinople's conquest by the Ottomans and a kind of reference point for the sultans. The article seeks to show that Sophia reached its peak, glory and splendour only after the conquest of Constantinople in 1453. In the same article, Prof Semavi Eyice notes that Hagia Sophia's survival was due to Sinan, a 16th century Christian architect who converted to Islam under the Ottomans' janissary policy. For his part, Prof Ahmet Akgunduz points out that Sophia is the living memory of Mehmet the Conqueror, and therefore must be restored as soon as possible to "its" spirituality, that of a mosque. Turkey To Join USA, England & France if they Attack Syria Isaiah 17 "Behold Damascus is about to be removed from being a city and will become a fallen ruin." The West is not buying Assad's claim that his forces did not used chemical weapons; so presently Obama is consulting with allies of England and France before he decides on how to punish Assad and his army. Military chiefs from the United States and its European and Middle Eastern allies, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, are meeting in Jordan, the headquarter of land attack, for what could be a council of war, should they decide to punish Assad, who has denied using chemical weapons and blamed rebels for staging such attacks. Turkey said it would join any international coalition in its attack on Syria. The United States has started a naval buildup in the region to be ready for Obama's decision; cruise missiles are lunched from naval ships. US already withdrew its troops from Iraq and the conflict in Afghanistan is winding down, so another war on the Syria, Iran, Lebanon & Jordanian fronts is not out of reach of United States. What this is all boiling to? The whole region will be turned into an infierno of fire and destruction so that the antichrist will appear as a savior in that region restoring peace. Of course they backtracked a little bit from that but do you think that this is going to affect the ties between Turkey and the US? And I say that because we are looking at the reaction by the US and they have come out pretty strong saying, strongly condemning Erdogan’s remarks, they used words like “offensive, unsubstantiated and wrong” to describe these accusations? Jones: Well I think that certainly will affect the US-Turkey relations. Mind you that there was a divided opinion; we are working with a dividing government even within the same administration with regard to the whole situation in Egypt. Obama had given his implicit and also in many respects explicit support when President Morsi was elected and then Morsi started moving in the direction of not bringing in other parties but in making a rather hard line Islamist regime and then there was some concern on the US side of what was going on. And when all the demonstrations came up of course there were people who felt that maybe this Morsi administration was not the best thing and therefore when there was this move on the part of the defense officials, the army in Egypt, they kind of looked the other way trying to get a negotiated solution but not condemning outright. But of course there is difference in opinion between on one hand state and the DOD (the Department of Defense) and on the other hand the National Security advisors, people like Miss Rice and now Ms Power at the United Nations something of the killer angels I call them of the Obama regime who probably want a much tougher line on Egypt. So there is not unity of purpose with regard to this but there has been a reaction against Turkey because there is that disunity within the US government to President Mohamed [Morsi] and I don't think it will destroy relations with Turkey but it's going to be an annoying moment for him. Press TV: Let’s look at the report card Bill Jones, I mean our guest there talked about it a little bit when it comes to initiating his foreign policy with the motto “zero problems with neighbors” obviously that it is not working. But let’s look at what has happened regarding Egypt. They are not engaged with Egypt right now because of what has happened, distanced themselves from the Arab neighbors, they are not engaged with the Israeli-Palestinian process, peace process, are they? And of course we know how they are in regards to Syria which has turned out pretty much into a less than positive relationship with Iran. So it has just paid off the directives in the direction that Prime Minister Erdogan has taken Turkey? Jones: I think not. I think Turkey has suffered a lot in the change in policy that they had. They played a major role as a mediator in variety of crisis in the Middle East. They were on their way to becoming a major player in the region but I think this has really undermined them in a very significant way. The Syrian operation of course which they have been given full support of, has created a tinderbox in the entire region which could light a fire, which would be hard for anybody to put out. Turkey has already suffered I think significantly economically. They were one of the most prosperous countries in the region. I think they suffered incredibly because of that and I think whatever the goals of Mr. Erdogan in shifting policy in this way, I think it has discredited Turkey as any kind of a mediator in the conflict. They have become a party to the conflicts instead of a mediator in the conflicts and I think they will suffer themselves also in terms of Syrian operation, the Kurdish unrest is going to become worse as a result to this and I see no upsides to the direction that the Turkish government has taken recently. Press TV: And aside from that Bill Jones, it is kind of ironic that Turkey as a whole when the so-called Arab Spring started was said to be this role model and of course Turkey and Prime Minister Erdogan they have promoted democracy in the Arab region and then what happened, they hit a brick wall when it came down to the protests that happened inside Turkey, these protests breaking on their own country which then drew condemnations almost immediately from two of the areas that Turkey wants to warm up to, at least be really accepted and that’s what, the United States and the European Union? Jones: Yes it is clear that the Turkish model no longer stands as a model of collaboration, cooperation among people of different political views and religious views which it was at one point. The fact that they supported the Morsi regime at a point in time when there was increasing public dissent with that regime and I personally believe that the country was indeed headed towards civil war and then when the military stepped in, I think it was also somewhat blatantly but at a point in time where they believe that there would have been clashes and civil war in Egypt, so in one sense that was saved up. The situation is still very tenuous and still very uncertain but why Turkey would want to directly get embroiled is still something of mystery to me because it has been very detrimental to their own position in the world and I think they've obviously made a lot of enemies or caused a lot of dissent and concern from including the United States which has been a very strong ally of Turkey. Turkey was supporting the Syrian reform process in the last 10 years and just after this Arab Spring, the Turkish-Syrian relations crumbled down and probably after Libya’s event, Turkey was thinking that Turkey should be in front, ahead of these developments and was thinking that the Syrian regime would collapse immediately, which was a mistake, and I think in the last three years we can only speak about the failure of Turkish foreign policy in the Syrian case to be realistic. On the other hand, Turkey was trying to have a type of policy, the values in general, should be applied and Turkey was supporting the opposition forces in Syria, which created a lot of problems for Turkey now domestically, not only more than 400,000 Syrians fled to Turkey, but also the Turkish border which is more than 900 kilometers, is very difficult to control and Turkey is experiencing very unprecedented, I will say, developments in the long run. So, in Turkish domestic politics, the government is strongly criticized for the Syrian policy. There is still no support for the government’s policy in Syria and now with all these developments in Egypt also, Turkey is more and more, getting along, if you want, in the region. Also, left not only by some Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, etc., but also by the United States of America, because of these Israeli accusations by the Turkish Prime Minister [Recep Tayyip Erdogan] behind the Egyptian advance, Turkey is there. I think suddenly Turkey was the rising star in the Middle East in the last 10 years, but now this rising star is getting in a lot of trouble and we can only say that the loneliness of Turkey is the reality of today. Press TV: I’m going to ask you a very simple question. Who needs who more? Turkey needs the United States more or the United States needs Turkey more? Bagci: In this case, Turkey needs the United States more. You have been talking about a possible shift in Turkish foreign policy. I mean, a shift into what? To what direction? With the European Union, Turkey is going to have more difficulties. There is a lot of credibility. With the Arab countries Turkey is also having different policies in the case of Egypt. With Israel, Turkey is in a way, in conflict with the United States of America. If Turkey is entering into a conflict with the United States, Turkey is going to do a big mistake. I would not suggest to the government to go into confrontation with the United States of America. Turkey cannot look to the north, to Russia. So Turkey will only look inward and this is not good for Turkey. Turkey should be a global player, not an inward-looking country closing herself outside and being in conflict with all the neighboring countries. This is not healthy. Of course the United States of America needs Turkey for certain policies in a regional and global sense, but America is the leader of the world at the moment and part of the United Nations Security Council. So there cannot be any decision taken against the will of the United States of America. Press TV: Let me ask you this. What was wrong with zero problems with neighbors? What was wrong with that foreign policy? I mean, Turkey was known to be a somewhat, before what happened to Syria, kind of like a mediator. You know, bridging the gap between the East and the West. We noticed that in particular when it came to Iran and the Tehran nuclear deal, Turkey was an active player on that and the United States and the West was looking to Turkey. What was wrong with that stance of zero problems with neighbors? Bagci: I would say it is the Arab Spring responsible for this. The Arab Spring created such an environment that Turkey had to change the direction and hoping that those Arab countries would democratize themselves, but that was not totally the case. So, Turkey had in the entire last decade, very good relations with the entire Arab leaders, authoritarian Arab leaders. And about the policies, zero problems with neighboring countries, was good on the paper but not good on the field after the Arab Spring. I think the Turkish foreign policy with the zero problems will not function anymore and this is the biggest disappointment of my dear colleague Turkish Foreign Minister Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu. Press TV: Do you think Turkey is in the process of reversing its foreign policy direction or backtracking a little bit and trying to make sure that it is going to keep its borders with its neighbors more cordial in the way it deals with it? Bagci: I think it will depend on whether Turkish prime minister Erdogan is going to choose the policy of confrontation with Israel and the United States of America. It would be very difficult in order to include Saudi Arabia. If Turkey is going to have three countries as potential enemies or not partners, then it will have some difficulties. I think the US is still global player, Turkey is really supporting [ousted Egyptian President Mohamed] Morsi and Ikhwan [Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood] and this is the Turkish prime minister was calling back the Turkish ambassador. Now we do not have any ambassador in Egypt. Turkey does not have three ambassadors in Israel, Egypt, and in Syria. And those three countries have been the countries where Turkey had been negotiating, mediating, just a couple of years ago. So, Turkey is now in a really, foreign policy turbulence. I think Tayyip Erdogan’s insistence to continue to have this policy in Egypt to support Morsi is fine from an ethical point of view, from the moral point of view, but is not acceptable from a realistic point of view. It is an Egyptian problem and Turkey cannot change the regime. Turkey cannot intervene there. Turkey is overextending and showing overself-confidence in the region. And I think this is not good for Turkish prime minister. The Turkish prime minister is now alone. I underline this so nobody is supporting him. Even Hamas was talking the neutrality in the case of Egypt. Turkey is the only country among the Islamic conference. This is something wrong. There is no explanation of Tayyip Erdogan’s foreign policy insisting on this mistake. The Egyptian’s democracy is not a Turkish problem. It should not be a domestic problem for Turkey. The problem is Prime Minister Erdogan is considering Hamas, Egypt and the Syrian issue as a Turkish domestic issue and this is very dangerous in the long run. Press TV: I need to ask you this, because there are some questions surrounding it. You know there was a press conference that Prime Minister Erdogan had with [uS President] Barack Obama outside the White House lawn. This is going back a month or two months ago. I remember distinctly when Erdogan was talking about relationship between Turkey and the United States, and there’s some analysts who have come out and said Turkey went there with one of the primary goals being that it wanted the US to intervene in Syria and there was so much talk about this no-fly zone happening. Do you think that there were false promises given by the United States, even up to this day, that we are going to go in, let’s say through a no-fly zone and that’s why Erdogan is sticking his neck out and his country’s neck out for the situation in Syria? Bagci: Yes, I think you’re right. And your analysis is also right. The prime minister was speaking just two days ago in a way that why then did the West want us to get involved in Syria. That means he considers himself now manipulated, speculated, and even betrayed, if you want, by the United States of America. This is also the anger of the Turkish prime minister in his recent statements towards the US. But America is not interested to intervene in Syria because it costs a lot... They have Afghanistan and Iraq experience and even in American public there would be no yes for any new involvement in Syria, because China, Iran, and Russia are supporting, backing, of course, Syria, including India I would say, many people forget about India who is also silent on this. In particular, in the media there are rumours about the possibility of acquiring shares in the TAP and TANAP projects by "Rosneft"... - First of all, I think "Rosneft" is very difficult to stop. This is a company that is growing rapidly in Russia, it is now strategically aimed at gaining its share, not just a niche, but its large share in the large gas business. Not only in Russia, but also outside Russia, so it is logical that such a company which has, incidentally, the closest strategic forms of cooperation with Exxon, with BP, will now seek to obtain for itself the strategic direction of actions in the gas sector. The support from the government for "Rosneft", in my opinion, is very large, and in the coming years the company will determine the direction vector of the entire Russian energy policy. But in this great game Russia could not support its policies. And it had to accept the fact that both Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, which previously could be somehow constrained in this respect, too, had their pipes to China, and now there is a very serious competition to Russia. Azerbaijan is also beginning to be serious competitor for Russia, of course, and especially for the "South Stream" in the European markets. And so I think this is the proper development. If not "Gazprom" with its own plans, so "Rosneft" will search some common ground with its rivals and try to get into this business. I think if that happens, we will have less geopolitics and more economic cooperation, more economic benefits. Russia will no longer have to think geopolitically, to let or not to let someone, to prohibit someone to build a bypass pipe and collaborate with someone there. And here, in principle, Russia is engaged in a project that already exists and is being implemented without it in order to provide capital and earn money. I think it's a smart move, if it takes place. - What expectations do you link with the visit of Vladimir Putin to Azerbaijan, given that some time ago many experts were talking about a pause and even a certain cooling in relations between the two countries? - I would not say that Russia's relations with Azerbaijan were heavily damaged. But I, on the other hand, do not think that in these allied relations, in military alliance relations with Armenia, Russia will automatically act against the interests of Azerbaijan. I think that Putin's visit in this regard will be aimed at making an agreement on the joint forms of work, and the inclusion of "Rosneft" in this new consortium is the evidence of Russia's intentions here to disconnect from purely geo-political attitudes and move towards a very pragmatic cooperation. - You spoke about Armenian-Russian cooperation. In this context, the question arises about the initialling by Armenia of the Association Agreement with the EU and at the same time the prospect of Armenia's accession to the Customs Union. What do you think, are these two perspectives compatible with each other, and what is your outlook on future developments? - I have talked about the fact that, as for the Caucasus and Azerbaijan, Russia wants to reduce the proportion of geopolitics, to return to a more pragmatic economic cooperation. You touched on the issue of clear geopolitics. It seems to me that the associate status, which is now proposed, by the way, to Ukraine, and Moldova, and Armenia by the EU, also shows the geopolitical thinking of the EU, which fears that Russia, which has become stronger in the last 12 years of Putin's rule, ventured to restore something similar to the Russian Empire. This was said by Mrs. Clinton and other politicians in the West. This process causes the most concern in the entire security policy in Europe. Therefore, the West will continue to offer associate status, including to Armenia. But there are some catches here. On the other hand, it is also a fact that the Armenian and Ukrainian products in most cases are not competitive in the European markets, and both countries need, of course, the Russian market. The CIS is almost non-existent, but the Eurasian Union will exist. And there's a very big opportunity for these products, they're more competitive. So closing the way for their business, for example, Armenian business, to the Russian market is also impossible. Because you need to find a way to become associated both there and here. I think that it is theoretically possible if both there and here, that is, in the EU and in the Eurasian Union there will be very clear and very strict rules of the WTO, it would be the rule of law, and the norms in the Eurasian Union will be more and more like European ones. This is a complex economic and legal work to be done, and this requires political will. I think this is the perfect way to go. I think that, in the end, we will go down this path. Therefore the output for Armenia now is just to play smartly, soberly and pragmatically for itself and to get this status in the East and the West. But Armenia and Ukraine have some problems in obtaining the status of the West. As we all know, in Ukraine there is Tymoshenko, who is in prison. The West is dissatisfied with very fact that the head of the opposition is in prison, and therefore to the Ukraine, there is more distrust, and it is even unknown whether there will be an agreement. In the case of Armenia, it seems to me that no associated status will be signed unless Armenia agrees to open the border with Turkey or in any case, goes to the liberalization of trade and the border with Turkey. And as we know, Armenia has its own ideology here, its own very serious matter, the issue of genocide, and the requirements of some repentance on the part of Turkey that Turkey, of course, will not make. These are still significant problems, significant barriers that constantly impede this process and create a situation where we have always been in one status quo, for two decades, with no significant changes.

At Timan Pechora on the Arctic Ocean a consortium made up of Exxon Mobil, Chevron Texaco, BP Amoco and Norsk Hydo runs a $48 billion venture. In November 2001 Exxon Mobil announced plans to invest another $12 billion in an oil and gas project in the Russian Far East. RD/Shell announced a $8.5 billion investment in its Sakhalin Islands concessions. BP Amoco made similar proclamations. [“Exxon’s Russian Oil Deal Makes Other Firms Feel Lucky”. Wall Street Journal. 12-13-01] In 1994 Lukoil pumped 416 million barrels of oil, making it fourth largest producer in the world after RD/Shell, Exxon Mobil and part-owner BP Amoco. Its fifteen billion barrels in crude reserves rank second in the world to Royal Dutch/ Shell. [“The Seven Sisters Have a Baby Brother”. Paul Klebnikov. Forbes. 1-22-96. p.70] The Soviet Caucasus, with encouragement from Langley, soon split from Russia. The map of Central Asia was re-written as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Georgia all declared their independence. The pipeline Reagan ordered targeted carried Soviet natural gas east to the North Pacific port of Vladivostok and west to the Black Sea port of Novorrossiysk from the world’s richest known natural gas fields lying beneath and abutting the shoreline of the Caspian Sea, which lies in the heart of Caucasus. The Four Horsemen coveted this resource more than any in the world. They wanted to build their own private pipelines once they got their hands on the Caspian Sea natural gas fields, which also contain an estimated 200 billion barrels of crude oil. Oil industry privatizations were quickly announced in the new Central Asian Republics which had, by virtue of their independence, taken control of the vast Caspian Sea oil and gas reserves. New Haven, CT. 2001. p.145] The Central Asian Republics became the largest recipients of USAID aid, as well as ExIm Bank, OPIC and CCC loans. Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were especially favored. These countries control the shoreline of the Caspian Sea, along with Russia and Iran. In 1994 Kazakhstan received $311 million in US aid and another $85 million to help dismantle Soviet-era nuclear weapons. President Clinton met with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. They signed an array of agreements ranging from disarmament deals to space research cooperation. Kazakhstan, with an estimated 17.6 billion barrels of oil reserves, had been a strategic part of the Soviet nuclear weapons grid and was home to the Soviet space program. The two leaders also signed an agreement providing investment protection for US multinationals. The Free Trade Institute and US Chamber of Commerce sent officials to train Kazakhs in the finer arts of global capitalism. The Four Horsemen moved in swiftly. Chevron Texaco laid claim to the biggest prize – the $20 billion Tenghiz oilfield – then grabbed another gusher at Korolev. Exxon Mobil signed a deal to develop an offshore concession in the Caspian. Bush’s NSA and later Secretary of State Condaleeza Rice, an expert on Central Asia, sat on the board at Chevron alongside George Schultz from 1989-1992. She even had an oil tanker named after her. Across the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan was receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in US aid. BP Amoco led a consortium of seven oil giants who spent an initial $8 billion to develop three concessions off the coast of the capital Baku – historic base camp of Big Oil in the region. Forbes. 10-24-94. p.48] BP Amoco and Pennzoil – recently acquired by Royal Dutch/Shell – took control of the Azerbaijan Oil Company, whose board of directors included former Bush Sr. Secretary of State James Baker. Armonk, NY. 1999. p.272] Secord & Company did military training, sold Israeli arms, passed “brown bags filled with cash” and shipped in over 2,000 Islamist fighters from Afghanistan with help from Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. Afghan heroin began flooding into Baku. Russian economist Alexandre Datskevitch said of 184 heroin labs that police discovered in Moscow in 1991, “Every one of them was run by Azeris, who use the proceeds to buy arms for Azerbaijan’s war against Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh”. May-June, 2006. p.11-15] A Turkish intelligence source claims that Exxon and Mobil were behind the 1993 coup against elected Azeri President Abulfaz Elchibey. Secord’s Islamists helped. Osama bin Laden set up an NGO in Baku as a base for attacking the Russians in Chechnya and Dagestan. A more pliant President Heidar Aliyev was installed. In 1996, at the behest of Amoco’s president, he was invited to the White House to meet President Clinton – whose NSA Sandy Berger held $90,000 worth of Amoco stock. Its president Vayit Alekperov wanted to build the Caspian pipeline through Grozny in Chechnya, while the Four Horsemen preferred the route through Turkey. CIA support for Armenian separatists and Chechen Islamist rebels ensured chaos in Grozny. Alekperov finally agreed to the Turkish route. In 2003 the US Defense Department proposed a $3.8 million military training grant for Azerbaijan. Later they admitted it was to protect US access to oil. As author Michael Klare put it, “Slowly but surely, the US military is being converted into a global oil-protection service”. It also has vast reserves of oil, copper, coal, tungsten, zinc, uranium and gold. The biggest gas field is at Dauletabad in the southeast of the country, near the Afghan border. The Unocal-led Centgas set about building a pipeline which would connect the oil fields around Chardzhan to the Siberian oilfields further north. More crucial to Centgas was a gas pipeline from Dauletabad across Afghanistan and Pakistan to the Indian Ocean. [Escobar. Part I] Advisers to the project included Henry Kissinger. Unocal is now part of Chevron. With the Four Horsemen firmly in charge of Caspian Sea reserves, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium was born. Chevron Texaco took a 15% stake with the other three Horsemen and Lukoil splitting the rest. Pipeline security was provided by the Israeli firm Magal Security Systems, which is connected to Mossad. Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have especially cozy relations with Israel via Special Ambassador Yusef Maiman, who is president of the Israeli Mehrav Group. Mehrav is involved in a project in Turkey to divert water from the upper Tigres and Euphrates Rivers to the southeast part of Turkey and away from Iraq. The pipeline quietly began moving oil and gas in November 2001, just two months after 911. Bechtel also built the oilfield infrastructure at Tengiz for Chevron Texaco. In 1995 Bechtel led a USAID-funded consortium to restructure the energy sectors of eleven Central and Eastern European nations in line with IMF mandates. Bechtel received a massive contract to upgrade Russia’s many ailing aluminum smelters in tandem with Pechiney. Lukoil contracted with New Jersey-based ABB Lummus Crest (formed when engineering giants Asea Braun Boveri and Lummis Crest merged) to build a $1.3 billion refinery at the Novorrossysk port and to do a $700 million upgrade on its refinery at Perm. The Bush Jr. Administration now planned a series of additional Caspian Sea pipelines to compliment the Tenghiz-Black Sea route. A Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan pipeline was built by a Four Horsemen consortium led by BP Amoco. The law firm representing the BP-led consortium is James Baker’s family law firm – Baker Botts. The BP Amoco pipeline runs the length of the country of Georgia through its capital Tblisi. In February 2002 the US announced plans to send 200 military advisers and attack helicopters to Georgia to “root our terrorism”. [“Wolf Blitzer Reports”. CNN. 2-27-02] The deployment was a smokescreen for pipeline protection. In September 2002 Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivaniov accused Georgia of harboring Chechen rebels. In October 2003 Georgian President Eduard Schevardnadze was forced to step down in a bloodless revolution. According to a December 11, 2003 article on the World Socialist Party website, CIA sponsored the coup. In September 2004 hundreds of Russian school children were killed when Chechen separatists seized their school building. Russian President Vladimir Putin said of the incident, “Certain political circles in the West want to weaken Russia, just like the Romans wanted to weaken Carthage.” He accused “foreign intelligence services” of complicity in the attacks. His adviser Aslanbek Aslakhanov went further, stating on Russian Channel 2 News, “The men had their conversations not within Russia, but with other countries. They were led on a leash. Our self-styled friends have been working for several decades to dismember Russia… (they are the) puppeteers and are financing terror.” Russia’s KM News ran the headline, “School Seizure was planned in Washington and London”. Lukoil has given luxury jets to the mayor of Moscow, the head of Gazprom (the state-owned natural gas monopoly) and Kazakhstan President Nazarbayev. In the mid-1990’s Lukoil announced that it would sell another 15 % stake to foreign stockholders through its largest owner and financial adviser CS First Boston and the Bank of New York. According to Kurt Wulff of the oil investment firm McDep Associates, the Four Horsemen, romping in their new Far East pastures, saw asset increases from 1988-1994 as follows: Exxon Mobil – 54%, Chevron Texaco – 74%, Royal Dutch/Shell – 52% and BP Amoco – 54%. The Horsemen had more than doubled their collective assets in six short years. This quantum leap in Anglo-American global power had everything to do with the takeover of the old Soviet oil patch and the subsequent impoverishment of its birthright owners. It will be within the Catholic Church that brother will fight brother, sister against sister, father against son, children against parent, until there are two sides. This war, to uphold the Word of God, will mean that those priests, who do remain true to Him, will have to seek refuge. To do this you must start preparing and find such places where you will be able to offer the Holy Mass and provide the Sacraments to God’s children. I, the Mother of Salvation, will protect such refuges and by the placement of the Seal of the Living God, given to the world by My Father, on the inside walls, they will remain invisible to the enemies of God. Do not be afraid of these things, because if you prepare well, you will lead God’s children to salvation. Should you not heed this warning, you will be taken captive in mind, body and soul, by the enemies of my Son and salvation will not be yours. Those who do the bidding of the false prophet will need much prayer, for some of them are blind to the Truth. Others, who will know the Truth, but who will side with those who will deny my Son’s death on the Cross, are to be feared. They will inflict terrible harm on the innocent followers of Christ. By remaining loyal to the Truth, you will lead my Son’s Remnant Army, so that it becomes a formidable force, against the evil one and those he directs in his fight against my Son’s true servants on Earth. You must, when the time comes, refuse to accept direction from those who will desecrate the Word of God and through their lies and new obscene doctrines, will mislead many. Their minds have been blocked and the evil one has used My Gift of intelligence to tempt them into believing that I could not possibly Exist. Those who do not believe in Me will have no real love, joy or peace in their lives. Nor will they accept Eternal Life. Instead, they will seek out only pleasures of the flesh, although they know that their lives on Earth are short. I will, as a Father Who loves each of them, pull them to Me through the Great Mercy of My Son. My Power is all-encompassing and Satan, My Lucifer, who cut himself away from My Hip, because of his pride, will never defeat Me. Those who follow him, therefore, have driven the same wedge between themselves and Me. They will know by the signs I now reveal that there is only One God, One Creator, one Paradise. All the paradises they are told about, by the false prophets in the world, who lead My children away from Me, do not, nor can they ever exist. I Am all there is. I created all. I will end all. All must be according to My Holy Will. Fight My Will and you will become nothing. Accept My Will and you remain My child. To those who do believe in Me, you must never reject My Son, Jesus Christ. I came into the world through My Son to bring you back into My Mercy, but you rejected Him. You killed Him, but still you never killed My Love for you. This is why I allowed His Crucifixion to bring you salvation. This, My Son’s death on the Cross, became your way to salvation. His death was not what it seemed – a failure in the eyes of the evil one. It was through this act of great suffering, endured with the greatest humility, which defeated Satan. And it was because of My Son’s death on the Cross, that Satan’s power over humanity failed. Even though he cannot take all of My children with him into the abyss, many will still be seduced by his lies. This is why you must fight, children, not just for your own souls. If you love Me, you will love My Son. If you love My Son, then you must help Him to save all sinners. I Call on you to tell you that when I Call on souls, especially those who do not know Me, as well as those who do know Me, but who refuse to accept My Commandments, that they have only so much time to save themselves from eternal torture. The names of those in the Book of the Living are the primary target of the beast. Many of these souls are followers of My Son and are loyal to the Church. They will turn on My Son by accepting new laws, not of My Son, which they will be forced to swallow as a new religion. This new religion has been carefully planned for many years. It follows Satanic rituals, but many will not understand this. When you embrace these rituals, you will give power to Satan. When you give him this power, you will need much prayer, for he will devour you in body as well as in soul. My children, I intervene now through punishments on the Earth. The poor souls who lose their lives through these chastisements are helping to save those of you who are lost to Me. Up until recently, all we could say was, thank goodness you’re not a lab rat; GM feed messes them up big time. GMOs (genetically modified organisms) appear to trigger the immune systems of both mice and rats as if they were under attack. In addition, the gastrointestinal system is adversely affected, animals show signs of accelerated aging, and vital organs are damaged. Lab animals can also become infertile, have smaller or sterile offspring, increased infant mortality, and even hair growing in their mouths. Have I got your attention? Biotechnology corporations such as Monsanto try to distort or deny the evidence, sometimes pointing to their own studies that supposedly show no reactions. But when scientists such as French toxicologist G.E. Seralini reanalyze Monsanto’s raw data, the rats fed GM corn actually suffered from clear signs of toxicity – evidence that industry scientists skillfully overlooked. Doctors Prescribe Non-GMO Diets; Remarkable Recoveries Although there have been no human clinical trials, experts conclude that there is sufficient evidence from animal feeding studies to remove GMOs altogether. The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) called for a moratorium in 2009 based on their review of the research. According to their former president Dr. Robin Bernhoft, the Academy “recommends that all physicians should prescribe non-genetically modified food for all patients, and that we should educate all of our patients on the potential health dangers, and known health dangers of GMO food.” Today, thousands of physicians and nutritionists do just that, and they report that a wide variety of health conditions improve after people make the change. But then she met a new doctor, internist Emily Lindner, MD. “The first thing she did,” says LaDonna, “was take me off GMOs,” including soy, corn, canola oil, and sugar. “Within two months,” she says, “I didn’t need the medication any longer.” Since LaDonna stopped preparing foods with GMOs, her husband Fred was swept along with the new diet. And he’s glad he was. “I feel 10 times better,” he says. At 73, Fred plays full-court basketball, even with two artificial knees. The new diet, he says, “made me feel much younger . . . I feel like I’m 50.” Interior designer Carol Salb also recovered from irritable bowel, as well as cold hands and feet, thinning hair, allergies, and daily congestion. “I felt better in two and half weeks,” she says. That was six years ago and she’s still going strong. We interviewed former school teacher Theresa Haerle on her 25th day on the new diet and she had already shed more than ten pounds. Even more remarkable was her recovery from 30 years of colitis – on the third day of her diet. In addition, her skin problems started to clear, she had more energy than she’d had in years, and it no longer hurt to get out of bed in the morning. Kids are recovering. One middle-schooler changed his diet and no longer suffers from incapacitating migraines and asthma. Another recovered from horrible pain in his gut. Although these patient interviews had been set up by their physicians, at the Institute for Responsible Technology we’ve heard similar unsolicited stories for a long time. Laurie lost 35 pounds in one year. Paul’s restless leg syndrome is gone – unless he accidentally eats a GMO. Many say their symptoms go away when visiting Europe, where food companies removed GMOs long ago due to consumer rejection. Dr. Lindner says, “I tell my patients to avoid genetically modified foods because in my experience, with those foods there is more allergies and asthma,” as well as digestive issues such as gas, bloating, irritable bowel, colitis, and leaky gut. “And what emanates from that,” she says, “is everything. Lots of arthritis problems, autoimmune diseases, anxiety . . . neurological problems; anything that comes from an inspired immune system response.” The speed of recovery varies, usually depending on the symptom. “When I change people from a GMO diet to a GMO-free diet,” she says, “I see results instantaneously in people that have foggy thinking and people that have gut symptoms like bloating, gas, irritation. In terms of allergies, it might take two to five days. In terms of depression, it starts to lift almost instantaneously. It takes from a day, to certainly within two weeks.” Full results usually take about 4-6 weeks. Dr. Lindner doesn’t just eliminate GMOs in her dietary regimen; but that step, she says, is the most critical component. Similar Livestock Stories – Without the Cofactors People who switch to non-GMO diets often do so by buying organic foods – which are not allowed to use GMOs. This raises a critical point in the analysis. Were the health recoveries stemming from eliminating GMOs or from the reduction in chemicals and increased nutrition found in organics? Similarly, since most GMOs in our diet are found in processed foods, some people reduced GMOs by cooking from scratch. So they simultaneously eliminate additives that may contribute to disorders. And for others, they may also eliminate food categories such as gluten or dairy based on a diagnosis. So what’s really causing these dramatic recoveries? Fortunately, the experience of numerous veterinarians and farmers around the World gives us insight. When they take livestock off GMO soy or corn and substitute the non-GMO equivalent, they don’t have these pesky co-factors. The animals are not eating organic, there’s no change in nutrients or additives, and the results are breathtaking. When a Danish pig farmer switched to non-GMO soy in April 2011 for his 450 sows and their offspring, within two days the animals’ serious diarrhea problems virtually disappeared. During the following year, death from ulcers and other digestive problems, which had claimed 36 pigs over the previous two years, vanished. Conception rate was up, litter size was up, diseases were down, and birth defects were eliminated. An Iowa farmer saw immediate changes in his 3000-pig nursery after switching to non-GMO corn last December. Not only is there a lower rate of disease and medicine bills, he says, “Our pigs are happier and more playful.” A feedlot operator with 5,000 head of cattle also switched to non-GMO corn and reported, “We’ve had a lot less pneumonia and health issues since that time.” Like the pig farmer, the behavior changed noticeably. His “cattle have been a lot calmer.” Many farmers who were struggling with large rates of infertility and miscarriages say they turned the situation around after switching to non-GMO feed. Renowned veterinarian and author Michael W. Fox, whose syndicated column has reached tens of millions, says that when GMOs were introduced, cats and dogs started suffering from much higher rates of allergies, itching, and gastrointestinal problems. He has a file drawer full of letters from happy pet owners confirming that his advice to switch the pets to non-GMO and organic feed cleared up the problem. Repeating Symptoms: From Lab Rats to Consumers What is striking about all these reports is the similarity of experiences. Many of the same categories of disorders identified in animal feeding studies by the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, e.g. gastrointestinal, immune, and reproductive, also clear up in humans and livestock when they switch to a non-GMO diet. Moreover, these same problems are on the rise in the US population since GMOs were introduced in 1996. Inflammatory bowel disease is up 40 percent. Multiple chronic illness nearly doubled in nine years. Food allergies, infertility, asthma, autoimmune diseases, etc. have accelerated among US consumers, nearly all of whom eat GMOs without even knowing it. Even autism rates may be impacted. When an autism specialist heard a scientist lecture about the behavioral, neurological, and physiological changes in mice, rats, and livestock fed GMOs, he told the speaker afterwards, “That’s exactly what we are finding in our autistic children.” Many parents report significant improvements in behavior and gastrointestinal disorders in their autistic children, after they remove GMOs from the diet. (See http://www.responsibletechnology.org/autism.) How Could GMOs Be So Bad? To understand how genetically engineered crops might contribute to so many serious disorders, it is helpful to understand a few details of the technology. GM crops have foreign genes inserted into their DNA, which is followed by cloning those cells into plants. Irrespective of which foreign gene is used, the very process of insertion and cloning causes massive collateral damage to the plants’ natural DNA. This has resulted, for example, in a new allergen in Monsanto’s GM corn and a huge allergen increase in their GM soy. Most of these types of unexpected side effects, which can add toxins or carcinogens to our meals, are never even screened for. The GM crops on the market have added genetic material from bacteria and viruses. These pieces of DNA, as well as the RNA and proteins they produce, have never been part of the human diet; that can be a problem for the immune system. According to Martha Grout, M.D., “Genetically modified foods create inflammation in the system.” Inflammation, in turn, can lead to a wide variety of diseases, including allergies, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, and heart disease. Dr. Emily Lindner likewise interprets the impact of GMOs as “an immune or inflammatory response” and treats it accordingly. The gene inserted into certain GM corn and cotton varieties is designed to provoke a response – in insects that is. The gene produces a poison called Bt-toxin that kills certain bugs by breaking holes in their digestive tracts. In spite of assurances by the biotech industry to the contrary, a study published this year confirmed that the toxin also breaks holes in human cells. A Canadian study in 2011 found Bt-toxin from Monsanto’s corn circulating in the blood of 93% of the pregnant women tested, as well as in 80% of their unborn fetuses. Bt corn might therefore not only provoke an inflamed, leaky digestive tract, it might wreak havoc in our blood stream, and in the delicate brains of infants, whose blood brain barriers are not developed. Three minor GM crops – papaya (grown in Hawaii and China exclusively), zucchini, and yellow crookneck squash – have inserted virus genes designed to fend off disease. Eating these, however, may have the exact opposite effect on us. Viral genes can produce viral proteins, which as a class are well-known to suppress the body’s defenses against viral infection. They can also be toxic. The most widely used GMOs are called “herbicide tolerant,” including soy, corn, cotton, canola, sugar beets, and alfalfa. This trait allows farmers to spray Monsanto’s weed killer Roundup, for example, on their Roundup Ready crops without killing them. The genes inserted into these plants produce proteins with allergenic properties. Perhaps of greater concern is that the sprayed toxins are concentrated into the food portion of the plant and end up in our diet. Roundup is linked to cancer, Parkinson’s, birth defects, and endocrine disruption. And now the bad news. The only human feeding study confirmed that part of the gene inserted into Roundup Ready soybeans can transfer into DNA of bacteria living inside our intestines. If the transferred genes continue to produce proteins (and there is evidence suggesting it does), then we may have allergens, viral proteins, or even Bt-toxin continuously manufactured within our own digestive tract.OK, the Good News Fortunately, as people learn about the health dangers of GMOs, feel better from non-GMO diets, and tell others, the non-GMO movement grows. There are now millions who seek healthier non-GMO foods. Since GMOs offer no consumer benefits; and since the same major food companies in North American already removed GMOs from their European brands due to consumer rejection, any measurable drop in sales that is linked with growing anti-GMO sentiment here will likely trigger a rapid race to non-GMO status. The tipping point threshold is likely to require only about 5% of consumers. But a critical vote in Washington State this November may accelerate the non-GMO revolution. A measure requiring mandatory labeling of GMOs is on the ballot. If passed, we think food companies would rather avoid GMOs than admit they use them. Especially since 53% of Americans say they would choose the non-GMO brands once labels give them a clear choice. Energy Cooperation During Putin’s visit – designed to discuss a wide range of bilateral issues, including trade, energy, transportation and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – Rosneft reported that it had also agreed with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) to jointly use some pipelines and terminals to optimize supplies to consumers. A cooperation agreement was signed by Rosneft and SOCAR respective chiefs, Igor Sechin and Rovnag Abdullayev, in the presence of Putin and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev. The two oil giants also said they would cooperate in marketing and sales of oil, gas and oil products. Rosneft has shown interest in joining the development of the Apsheron gas field in the Caspian Sea, whereas Russia’s largest privately held oil company, LUKoil, is participating in the development of the Shah Deniz gas field in the Caspian Sea and owns a network of gasoline-filling stations in Azerbaijan. LUKoil CEO Vagit Alekperov is accompanying Putin on his visit to Azerbaijan, just as Rosneft chief Sechin is. Last year, Azerbaijan delivered 1.55 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Russia. Bilateral interaction is set to be expanded in the military and technical sphere, and border activities and between the two countries’ emergencies ministries. Experts polled by RIA Novosti have said Moscow has yet failed to make Baku its ally rather than partner. Military and Emergencies Cooperation Azerbaijani President Aliyev told reporters after a meeting with Putin that Moscow and Baku planned to continue military and technical collaboration. According to Aliyev, his country’s defense industry cooperation with Russia is worth $4 billion and keeps growing. Azerbaijan is among the top buyers of Russian arms and other military equipment, which, Aliyev said, is considered the best in the world. The two countries’ emergencies ministries signed a cooperation plan for 2013-2015, and a new program to train Azerbaijani emergencies staff will soon be worked out, a Russian ministry spokeswoman said. Nagorno-Karabakh Putin and Aliyev also touched upon the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been strained for over two decades, since the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, a predominantly ethnic Armenian region, first erupted in 1988.
