Warning If You Are Into "mp3s"

Sip

Recommended Posts

Nairi, copied CDs when they have been copied from the orginal, and not mp3s, or converted mp3s, are as good as the orginals in term of sound qualities, its digital, not analogue, it is copied bits by bits.

I know, but most of the stuff I have (such as the crap from Armenia) is a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. The rest are from downloads/MP3s of which only very few have relatively good sound quality.

I'm still a tape person when it comes to copying CDs from others :)

Domino, I do not know where you buy your classical music from but here in LA "good" classical recordings(not just artists) are expansive.  I do not think I can find a single Karajan CD for sub 20 dollars.

Expensive? Well, sorry Azat, Karajan is a little too much modern for me. :D Beside those midis I have somewhere in my comp. I do not have him. :) I am on the barok, pre-romantism, romantism type. Don't like Italianettes, etc... I am on the German real thing.

As for where I buy them, they put them here and there in stores, even in pharmacies, for 4-5 bucks, and other times, I can find them in a box of 5 etc... in places where they are ignored in a corner, but it has been times I have not pied a visit in those places, but I dought they have closed.

Sergik aper... :)

Sergi Prokofiev. I also like Rachmaninov, I whistle Masquerade by Khachaturian all the time, and unlike you I listen to Beethoven and Mozart all the time.

Actually, Beethoven is my favoured with Bach(the father), but I don't like Mozart, he plays with my nerves with his regularity. Oh and I LOVE Chopin nocturnes, I think I will tell Nairi to listen to them. :D

What about you favoured concertos, piano sonatas, violon ones, symphonies etc... ? :)

okay, since we are talking about music here i have a question. How many here have a "perfect ear"? where you can hear slight differences in music when you listen to the same CD on different players and things like such.

I personally can hear the difference between a good speaker and a bad one, but that is where I stop(I think most people out there are like me) however I have a friend who pays(get this) 200-300 just for the speaker cables because to his ear they make a difference. And I know he is not lying. Once he went out and rented a CD player from a high end store that costs over 16K(he had it for only 2-3 days) and he thought it was magical and to me it sounded the same as the 200 cd player that I have.

Nairi, if you likes Liszt music, you would like chopin.

EDITED: Oh !!! Are you telling me that you like those kind of music?

Whoooooooo... a MAC girl, well you still love language, but I guess nobody is perfect. :D :P

But, without the language stuff, you would be perfect, considering that you use a MAC.

then I guess you must like Brahms and Handle as well... What about Paganini?

Rachmaninoff's 3rd Concerto

Beethoven's 9th Symphony

Prokofiev's Piano Sonata (i think it is number 8)

all string music by Vivaldi

I never had the money to try those cables to tell it. But I know that I have a very good pair of ears.

There are cables BTW that worth thousands, I don't know if you have heard about them, insted of copper they are made of silver.

I know they are silver with teflon coating. What a joke. Someone probably in their garage is making them and selling to rich idiots to feel that can hear the difference.

Just to weigh in on the debate:

The only reason people are resorting to 'stealing' music is that the RIAA and the recording industry in general is antiquated. They need to get with the program...

LOWER prices on CDs, concerts etc.

INCREASE access to musicians/artists

STOP forcing garbage music down the publics throat through institutions like Clearchannel (who own a crazy percentage of radio stations in NA BTW...) and allow the MUSIC LISTENING PUBLIC to decide what THEY want to listen to. How?

ENCOURAGE grass-roots internet radio (instead of squashing it)

ALLOW legal dowloads of CHEAP music - use a lower bit-rate, & make the CD worth buying

OFFER other disireable material/info/gimmick that is only available with the purchase of CDs.

The music buying public has been SO SCREWED by the recording industry for so long, that they have no reason to be loyal, and every reason to 'steal' back a little bit of what they already paid for.

BESIDES - the artists themselves make VERY LITTLE MONEY in comparison to the corporation behind them. Record company execs are leading publicly frivilous lifestyles - and this while complaing that they're industry's making less money andlobbying for gov't assistance. Phooey. Bunch of greedy *&?%$#@.

I proposed we cut out the middle man - let's but music direct from the artists on-line. Then the people who actually deserve the $$ will end up with it.

:o Hehehhe ... yah part of that is for my flux capacitor. But the rest is for the sound system :D

By the way, looks like we have to get together and perform an exorcism on Harut. :)
