Data Protection Software...

Recommended Posts

... I was just wondering about a thing.

I will be having 3 HD in my computer, I was thinking about if there was a way to have a folder where important files are kept, and that everytime I save something in this folder it is saved at the same time in the 3 different HD.

It is not RAID that I want, I just want a folder in which I could save important files that will be saved in the 3 HD...

Is there a software to do that?

The backup utility that comes with windows will do just that... you can set it to do it daily, or even every 10 minutes :D Look in Accessories, under system tools.

Thanks.

I finally changed my mind... I have found from the disk managers a way to have a software raid... I will be partitioning a 20 Gb in 2 HD that will be for my important files and stuff and will make the second a mirror of the first one.

There are alot of companies out there offer "online" backup which is basically u encrypt and upload your data on ftp server. You can do this with your most critical data. Dual layer DVD have large capacity just pick a good backup software Dantz Retrospect is good and easy to use software. This might be alternative that could possibly work for you. If online doesn’t work any Backup soft even Microsoft backup can be scheduled to perform backups. If you want real-time get disk replication software.

My goal was more like a software Raid-1 style of data protection. I already have found what I needed. Thanks anyways.
