Armat
I had an hour to watch a wonderful program on public TV about the American Revolution told from a British perspective. It is ironic that few individuals like Sam Adams and specially Paul Revere started the American revolution based on much personal hatred of British then commonly taught taxation reason. Paul revere was the propagandist who after setting up the “Boston Massacre” (only four people died”) illustrated himself a flyer showing British army killing hundreds of innocent people and distributed widely and causing much hatred by the populace towards the British. It is interesting that revolutionaries had different agenda for their revolution from community to community. In the south, westward expansion and right to bare arms was paramount thus it is no accident that right to bare arms is second after freedom of speech on bill of rights. There is much more that is fascinating and I hope you guys watch it. Edited July 2, 2004 by Armat

Bakersfieldian
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this Armenian history forum? Quite a few of us live here so I guess it is now our history as well. Picture this: What would an Armenian do in the Revolutionary War? That would make an excellent Photoshop contect. Nakharar
In "The Patriot" they portrayed a massacre by the British that never actually took place. So much for historical accuracy. Give the audiences what they want?
Vigil
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this Armenian history forum? Ditto Quite a few of us live here so I guess it is now our history as well. Yeah, quite a few of you live in America, but how many of "you" will actually pick up arms and defend this nation? Furthermore, how many of "you" will actually stay in this "country" if it was to one day become as "backwards" as most of parts of the world? None and do not tell me otherwise due to the fact that the Diaspora has a history of seeking salvation on foreign soil only to one day flee it leaving all they have behind. How many times will Armenians seek refuge in foreign lands? However, I am glad that at least one Armenian acknowledges that by becoming a "citizen" they are taking an action that goes beyond just signing a paper. At least someone of my "humble intelligence" understands that by signing that "citizenship document" I am forfeiting my allegiance to Armenia. With that being said, I am being absorbed into a population that took an active role in covering up a crime for the sake of transporting petrol through Turkey, which means that by me becoming a American I am in a sense submitting to the very same people that destroyed my ancestors way of life for the sake of knocking a few pennies off oil imports. This is what it boils down too because we sure as hell know that Americas geopolitical movement is aligned with Turkeys, so, in a sense you are not just denying the Armenian genocide, but are helping a nation that actively takes a role in strengthening the very same individuals that butchered you’re ancestors. I am sure the English also labeled the actions of the colonial states as acts of terror like Americans today are labeling the “Iraqi Insurgents” as terrorist. Yeah, I am sure Americans would also welcome a foreign military on their soil like they are expecting the Iraqis to do. What would an Armenian do in the Revolutionary War? That would make an excellent Photoshop contect. Most likely flee the country and claim political asylum.
