Armenia has achieved a new milestone by winning its first-ever medal at the Karate World Championships. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports announced the news on its official Facebook page.
At the 27th World Championships in Cairo, Egypt, 21-year-old Suren Harutyunyan earned a bronze medal in the 75 kg category. He won the medal match by defeating U.S. competitor Scott Thomas with a score of 2–0.
