Arpa
ANCA and all the Armenian PACs deserve a round of applause. Its About TIME and Beating Around the Bush From the California Courier. Given the fact that the New York Times is one of the leading newspapers in the United States, its editorial policies and positions have a great influence on the coverage of issues by the media nationwide and even worldwide. The Times also helps shape the opinions of policy makers as well as the public at large. Consequently, its acknowledgment of the Armenian Genocide will have a devastating effect on the Turkish efforts of denial and reaffirm the historical facts. To amplify this effect, the news of the New York Times acknowledging the Armenian Genocide should be disseminated worldwide to all members of the media, government officials, and international organizations. Is this what is known as "revolution"? Meanwhile Bushwackers in the backwoods.... Remember that one of the Turkish words for "to bark/hachel" is "urumek/(H)urriyet". From AZG Genocide BUSH NOT TO USE WORD 'GENOCIDE' AGAIN 'Reliable sources' told Turkish Hurriyet that at his April 24 annual address to the Armenian people US president George Bush will not use the word 'genocide', for the 4-th time in a run during his office as US president. Hurriyet assures its readers that since taking up the post of US president, George Bush Jr. has 'on principle' come up against the usage of the word 'genocide'. The Turkish paper wrote that most probably Bush will continue 'in this way' in future, too, and the fact of the 2004 being an electoral year and George Bush being a presidential candidate 'will not change anything in this matter', implying the possible pressure the Armenian lobby may exercise over the current administration regarding the Armenian Genocide recognition.
