Boghos
I have been listening to two different recordings, one by Anna Mailian and the other by Lucine Zakarian. Horzham and Tiramayr by Zakarian are extremely beautiful. Together with Gomidas it is interesting how from time to time they touch very deep feelings of sadness and happiness at the same time. I recommed Armenian Medieval Spiritual Music by Lucine Zakarian to everybody, as to Gomidas my opinion is that one should hear any and everything he has to "say". Boghos
Thank you very much. I just listened to a few samples of her voice on Amazon. Incredibly crisp. I am ordering the CD, of course .
Proud EXPAT
I have to throw in my two sense. The Isabel cd is great and she sings wonderfully, but she lacks the warmth and soul that Anna Mailian or Lucine Zakarian express so naturally. Boghos
I am reserving a more detailed opinion for when the CD arrives, but I have to say that it sounded crisp but not with so much soul as you put it.

ArmMusic
Anna Mailian is awsome!!! Lucine Zakarian is classic and awsome!!! Look out for Naira Abrahamyan- She is going to rise fast! There are many Armenian women with great voices not only in Hayastan but all around the world. Unfortunately not many have actually been recorded. Have any of you heard Anoush Barclay? She has performed Vahan Artsruni's "Komitas 10 Revelations" in New York, originally sung by Anna Mailian, and I must tell you- she ROCKED! To all of you Anna Mailian fans- you might want to hear this, check out the Vahan Artsruni "Komitas 10 Revelations" Clips: http://www.armenianmegastore.com/cds/cd_index.html Have fun exploring!
