Dear Fellow Armenians,

According to the Armenian Assembly of America and the Armenian

Church of America, Armenian organizations are encouraging their members

to contact National Geographic magazine and thank it for publishing the

long, accurate, informative piece on Armenia in its March 2004 issue, on

newsstands now. For more, go to the magazine's website:

The magazine has received a backlash of criticism from the

government of

Turkey. Please contact the magazine and thank them for publishing this

important story. Write to:

William A. Allen, Editor-in-Chief

Try this address.

ngm@nationalgeographic.com

This is the one given at their "contact us" section

If you send it there they will ignore it.

Guys leave NG alone, it is not the first time they have faced similar problems, they never have moved a Yota, they are an "Inad" organization, the Turks won't make them move.

They have many many issues that resulted of many critics, many recent ones as well, NG does not care at all of Turkish threats.

The moderators may see it fit to merge this thread with "Rebirth of Armenia" under the subject topic of Republic of Armenia so that the comments will stay within the proper perspective.

BTW, Montrealguy welcome.

As a last ditch effort to try and find a direct line to the NGM I looked at the list of editorial staff and contributors and.... WOW!

William I. Allen

Editor in chief

Chris Johns and BERNARD OHANIAN (highlight mine)

Associate editors.

I ran a google search using his name, so can you, and guess what? The first response was something like "shame on you Bernard Ohanian". Which takes one to several Turkish sites (I will not furnish the URLs) and the barrage of angry letters and e-mails is unbelievable. Most of them challenge the NGM to review and "learn history", but the majority of them, the one above specifically invokes the assasination of Turkish diplomats during the 70's and 80's, and more of the usual garbage.

It would be funny otherwise. By invoking those incidents of the latter decades of the 20th c. are they in fact saying that they murdered our ancstors during the 1890's and 1900's because of the action of "Armenian terrorists" in the 1980's?

How ridiculous can they be!! Do they think the highly educated editors and writers of the National Geographic don't know that 1915 came before 1975??

If Turks had brains they would be dangerous, but the irony is that they are more dangerous without brains.
