Eighteen year old Artur Grigoryan is the latest casualty of soldier-against-soldier violence. Armenian soldiers kill each other at an average of nearly one per week. Private Grigoryan, who was conscripted last November, three days after his 18 th birthday, died March 2 at the Erebuni Medical Center from wounds inflicted by an officer. Apparently they have done something such as introducing more discipline and punishing abusive soldiers and officers. There is an NGO who is working on this issue and publicizing murder cases as well. I said that what happened was a horrible event, but in the meantime we are killing our own soldiers. Come to think of it, I don't know the stats, but I'm sure more Armenian soldiers have been killed by other Armenians in the past few years rather than Azeri soldiers killing Armenian soldiers. Is this sad or what? Everyone got really upset about this Azeri bastard killing the Armenian soldier, but this issue of Armenian soldiers being killed in the army has to be taken care of somehow. Well what do you expect when more than half the youth is either drinking or getting stoned? When I mean drinking or smoking I do not mean socially, but they do it the point where it takes control of their lives. Just turn on MTV and you can tell how much the next generation has degenerated. Armenians are not the only ones that have taken the capitalistic bait but also everyone in America. The violence just catches your eye in LA more often because its surrounded by fog and mirrors. Everyone in LA is a "gangsta", "striper", or lives a "ghetto life", but these individuals become part of the scenary after a few years. The worst is when a paskahye or beruitsi tries to be sev or a stansi trying to be Mexican and further more what is tragic is that all are immitating what they can never relate to. When I see the valedictorian of my high school I graduated from listening to Tupac, while getting drunk or stoned on the weekends, you should not expect much from everyone else. I respect the rabiz more than any of the rest of the Armenians or people in LA for the sheer fact that even though they are not hip they are not fake. When people are controlled by "elite media" and the world is seen though a small hole what can you expect? Things like that happed everywhere, in any army. Why don’t you then talk about say, whatever happens in American army in Iraq? Again, I have to repeat myself – these news are bad but it’s not like this happens on daily basis. Very typical for Armenianow. I mean, fights among males is common, not anywhere leading to a gun, but a temporary disagreement. that is all.
