Anonymouse
I used to give myself black eyes in highschool and brag to girls that I got into a fight with 5 guys and kicked butt.

Hye_Acher
Yes of course…. when I first started shaving my facial hair I used to cut myself all the time… especially my cheeks and chin…. but now I’m a professional shaver these days… Good Day!!! Anonymouse
Well, the part of the black eye was true, just not the fight and the girls. After I saw Fight Club, I felt like beating myself. But as far as cutting myself, I never will. My blood is precious to spill.
gevo27
have you ever cut yourself (or hurt yourself in any other way) or thought about doing it? OK, on the serious note!.. I dont think iv ever seriously contemplated the idea of killing myself, or hurting myself for the pain or something like that. But yeah there have been times where u just wanna die... lol.. But.. maybe riding my dirt bike the way i do when im pissed is suicidal, therefore be considered trying to hurt myself.. but eh.. i dont think so, i dont do it to hurt myself, but if i do, well at that time thats not an issue.. lol.. but always the aterthaught its "DAMN< THAT WAS STUPID!" lol.... cause very easily something could have gone wrong.. it only takes a split second at 75 mph on 2 think wheels.. Sebastia
I used to give myself black eyes in highschool and brag to girls that I got into a fight with 5 guys and kicked butt. I did that once too in 2nd grade, but the girls didn't believe me
sev-mard
Only self-harm I inflict is drinking and smoking when I probably shouldn't. But I'm young and fit still so I don't think I'm doing that much self-harm.
den_wolf
have you ever cut yourself (or hurt yourself in any other way) or thought about doing it? I have definitely thought about harming myself (on more than one occasion), yes (not cutting myself, as I don't think I'd be able to do that no matter how depressed etc. I was) - but I haven't done it. Just thoughts, no actions. I don't think it's a good idea. No matter how depressed or sad or frustrated one is, there's always a way out. You might call me a radical optimist, but . . . I speak from experience (well, not saying that I've experienced what others are experiencing, but still... I don't know).
angel4hope
i think everyone thinks about it....honestly, i myself have thought about it, but came to a conclusion that my life and my friends and family are always there for me, why harm myself when i have all these people around me who love me and who care, and i just cant bring myself to do anything like that...haha this is funny--here...once though, my mom made me really really mad, and i was so pissed that i started ripping off my nails--not from the roots-lol -my natual finger nails-not acrylics- well thats the only pain ive inflicted upon myself--and it was just retarted- i mean it was just me trying to get rid of my anger...hey netter soultion-if your stressed/depressed/angry....get a punching bag-serious it helps!! haha i used 2 punch my bro-bayts megkh aa-lol well im not that strong btw--anyway serious never harm yourself-life is too precious and besides there's enough harm done to you by others around you who are inconsiderate of your feelings sometimes-why harm yourself? idunno...serious...and dont let things/people get to you soo much...if you do itll end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy..and the cycle will continue on and on---

Hye_Acher
everyone thinks about it....honestly, Pardon me but I have to disagree with you… I have never thought about harming myself in any way. NEVER have. Skittles are you that depressed/Stressed out? ? I’ve noticed that you always bring up topics on if anyone has thought about harming, killing, (abusing <_< ) and etc…yourself… life is beautiful enjoy… you’re concentrating on the littlest things in life and this is where it leads wondering about things that you shouldn’t be… be safe and take care…. Good Day!!!
Stormig
Never even thought of it. I've been in bad moods, but something like that ought to be beyond my imagination.
sev-mard
I have never thought about harming myself in any way. NEVER have. For once Hye acher I'd have to agree with you. I've been melancholy, felt alone in the universe but self-harm only seems like it would hurt. I may be mad, or reserved, but cutting myself just seems pointless. As a former counselor for younger folks I 'understand' the mentality but for me personally it has never held any allure.
den_wolf
Cutting oneself has deep psychological roots, such as trying to get attention. True, those who do it deny that they're doing it for attention, and they might not be doing it intentionally, but it clearly is for attention, or it's some sort of "on the route to madness," becaues no one in their right mind would cut themselves. Suicide is an altogether different issue, because once you do it, it's done and over with, but cutting oneself is different. Sev-mard, nice, you were a counselor? That's great. I see a lot of troubled kids around. Tough times, I suppose.
CheekY
i don't think most people would admit they hurt themselves...
den_wolf
i don't think most people would admit they hurt themselves... I disagree. Just go on some depression forums or online communities, and you'll see for yourself.
CheekY
i meant in real life not online
den_wolf
i meant in real life not online That too, in most cases anyway. I've talked to a few of them personally. One girl who was in my class used to come to school with a bandaged hand. It was obvious that she had bandaged it. Cutters or those who "want" or pretend to be cutters to get attention - seen them all. But that is not to generalise. I agree that there are a lot of them who do it privately and don't want anyone to see. So you're right, in a way. I suppose it depends on the person. CheekY
does it leave scars? if it's not too deep?
den_wolf
does it leave scars? if it's not too deep? It does leave scars, sometimes. depends on how deep it is. sometimes it needs hospitalisation, sometimes not. most don't go to the hospital. sometimes it creates problems with infections. it is pretty . . . dangerous. one can catch anything from a not-properly disinfected wound... nairi
So you're right, in a way. What do you mean "in a way"? She's right, period. Many people deny it. Skits, I don't think the physical scar matters as much as the mental scar. I don't believe in 100% happiness. Ups and downs are a part and parcel of life, but it's how you learn to deal with them. den_wolf
What do you mean "in a way"? She's right, period. Many people deny it. My apologies. There seemed to have been a semantic mistake on my part. Skittles is right. She said "most." I agree. Thanks for the correction, Nairi. gevo27
there was a short girl back in my history class sophmore year... she came to school all the time with her wrists all scared.... at first i didnt really think much of it, but me and my friend asked her one day, and she was actually willing to talk about it.. but she pretended she didnt want to.. ofcourse she told us to keep it wuiet, but ii asked her, :then why dont you wear long sleeves" she didnt really have an answer for that.. but as the months went on, it became a problem for her, because she said now for no reason i just cut myself.. i suppose she was likeing the pain. ....scary to say the least... so some people are like that. beats me why, she said she would ususally do it cause she didnt have anyone to f*** that night.. and hearing stuff like that, i came to a tentative conclusion that she was mentally ill... so i guess we can make the generalisation "some people who cut themselves for pleasure, are mentally ill" its sad though, she was a pretty girl, smart if she would study. but she dropped out and i have not a clue what happened to her.. so, i still dont know why you would actually sit there and scratch yourself with a dull knife until you hit a vain.. how sadd.... den_wolf
No denying that there is an underlying problem when people cut. Only that some do it for attention, and that basically shapes up the stereotypes. As for me, I've seen someone "trying" to cut herself, I'm sure she wasn't going to. Nevertheless, I did go and talk to her. That stopped her anyhow. Not sure if she would've gone ahead and cut herself. I highly doubt it. I'd say those who do cut themselves do it only for themselves, not for others. It's a redirection of the anger towards oneself. The human mind is such a complex thing ...
