Armen
Angel, just wanted to say that aside from Classical music I very much like Nora Jones. She's got a very beautiful and soothing voice. Great to listen to while driving on a rainy day. Norah Jones is super. I like the piano-guitar background in "Don't know why". Did you know she's the daughter of Ravi Shankar?

den_wolf
I like Cake's version of "I will survive" I like it too, but it's a bit different from the way Gloria Gaynor sings it, which is why a lot of people don't like it.

Anoushik
Norah Jones is super. I like the piano-guitar background in "Don't know why". Did you know she's the daughter of Ravi Shankar? Yes, I knew she is the daughter of Ravi Shankar. Her new album Feels like Home is coming out tomorrow.
Anoushik
Angel, what about Alicia Keys? Do you like her? I got her second album Diary of Alicia Keys because the good review in the Time magazine was convincing. Although the writer was also good to point out that only about half of her songs are very good while the rest is just like any contemporary pop. But there are some songs in there that are worth listening to.
Anoushik
Hmm... Now that I think about it the only time I listen to music is when I'm driving, and on average I just drive for two hours a day. And mostly then I listen to radio, not CD. The radio station I most listen to is 91.5 KUSC - Classical music, (or also 105.1 KMozart), but of course it's not possible to listen to Classical music all the time (also the noise on the freeway doesn't allow it) so that's when I like Norah Jones and Alicia Keys. den_wolf
Mmm, I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but, how about Shirley Bassey? Beautiful lyrics to "Yesterday, When I was Young." Makes one think. How about Travis - "Hit Me Baby One More Time" (I hate that song, but VERY nicely done by Travis). Or The Flaming Lips?
