"Agassi" is an ethnic Assyrian last name (like the singer Evin Agassi). This also adds to people not even knowing of Andre's Armenian blood. angel4hope Posted January 5, 2004 Report Share Posted January 5, 2004 andre agassi is armenian--he has appeared on covers of srmenian magazines--has actually been at the photo shoots-not just a random picture----he has also done interviews with the magazine--i dont remember the name of the magazine but it was posted somewhere in the forum---one of azats threads-i believe about entertainment/music-if i recall correctly.... Agassi to my knowledge never did a fund raising event or appeared in one that benefited Armenia. He could do tremendous amount of good but I feel he is just another assimilated Armenian who is simply happy to ignore the whole thing. I care less about celebs if what they want to talk is all about them. Aznavur alone deserves a special place and if he runs for the presidency of Armenia I'll be excited. Now, in retrospect it was all about her, the spotlight etc. Where is she now! Ohh yeah she conveniently also forgot about her Armenian heritage.
