Of course I gave them all F's. Basically they built a custom processor (they designed and built the processor in hardware from scratch) that could interface to the VGA and run this as a program! You know I kinda had a feeling this was coming when one of them took my picture with his cel phone a week before that project was due Here's video of it (~850K) in action. ... closer look at the hardware. My buddy's fiance (now his wife) was doing the same thing with those cats at UCLA so I gave her a lot of hard time about that... she was also doing something with the monkeys at one of the labs she was working at for a while ... something with sticking probes and what not in their brains.
