Church holidays

Ecclesiastical holidays, one of the main constitutive divisions of godliness or ritual and worship. They are performed in solemn church ceremonies, dedicated to the commemoration of certain events and persons, or simply a means of spiritual meditation. The aim is to devote oneself to the counsel of the day, to the praise of God and to religious worship, to live a spiritually pious life and to reflect on spiritual values. Christian, including Armenian Church holidays are dedicated to Jesus Christ, the Mother of God, the cross, saints and martyrs, as well as events of national-ecclesiastical significance (for Armenians, such are the Translators, Vardanants holidays). A number of Christian holidays were mixed with some elements of the holidays of the pagan period and folk customs. Sunday is the Lord's Day, dedicated to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and is always celebrated as a church holiday. The rest of the days of the week are holy and safe days.
