AA. Garik Karapetyan won a small silver medal

 

 

 

On September 14, at the World Weightlifting Championship held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, 102 kg weightlifters, world bronze medalist, two-time European champion Samvel Gasparyan and current European champion Garik Karapetyan took to the stage.

European champion Garik Karapetyan won a small silver medal in the snatch exercise. Samvel Gasparyan had an unsuccessful start.

Garik Karapetyan was the first among the Armenian weightlifters to take the stage and successfully broke the 175 kg barbell on the first attempt. On the second attempt, the young weightlifter failed 183 kg. He successfully broke the barbell on the third attempt and finished the fight in second place in this exercise.
