She soared to furtherrenown when she portrayed the title character in the 1953 musical`Dahab' also featuring Wajdi.As a teenager, Fairouz performed in several films, some of themfeatured Egypt's legendary comedian Esmail Yassin. Fairouz's last filmwas released in 1959. Afterwards, she quit acting and later marriedactor Badr Eddin Jamjum. She had since stayed away from limelights.As a child actress Fairouz, who was of Armenian origin, also displayedskills in dancing and singing.Her talents earned her several titles including Egypt's ShirleyTemple. Her black-and-white films continue to impress audience ofdifferent ages when they are re-run on Egyptian and Arab televisionstations.
