A New Opportunity of Sevres Agreement Realization

`Noyan Tapan' agency in their reference to `Marmara' daily newspaper

of Istanbul informed about a new opportunity to realize the Sevres

Agreement. During the meeting dedicated to the 83-years anniversary of

the agreement some of the participants, in particular, Kurd ones

demanded from UNO and European Union to create the Government of

Kurdistan according to the Sevres agreement. The representatives of

left-wing social-political statesmen, the member of European Council

from Greenpeace were present at the meeting. The collection of

signatures was organized to represent the document to the government

of Sweden. Sweden is one of the countries that recognized the

Armenian Genocide and this is not the first time it occurs in such

discrepancy with Turkey during enactments like this.

About the Album

Our braves heavily outnumbered f.... the hell out of the Turkish Army. Their elders probably still have nightmares when they hear about armed Armenians. These cowards, totally incapable of any warfare were only successful of killing civilians. Hundreds and thousands of them. Turk is foremost synonymous of coward. What else you can expect from mongolo-semitic scum.

 

Honestly I have never studied the Sevres treaty. One thing is for sure. All other subsequent accords, conferences, multilateral agreements etc. have been drafted and ratified without the main actor - Republic of Armenia. Ataturk fell in love with Lenin and in the mean time Armenians were labeled contra-revolutionaries in Russia and traitors in Turkey.

 

 

PS: Arpa, 4 years ago I crossed the 'border' between Germany and Holland with 140 km/h. Do we want to cross the turkish border with 80 miles per hour. I don't think so. I would rather cross the Georgian border with that speed.

Sevres treaty, or better to say, the Armenian articles of that treaty, have never been ratified, moreover, have been plaid back in Lausanne. It has no legal value.

 

Most importantly, the Kars treaty of October 1921, where Armenia is a signatory, overwrites any other treaties that have been signed between the parties prior to that date.

 

Kars treaty is the only treaty Armenia has leverage over by a sheer fact of being a signatory to it (and in no other treaties.)

 

The only legal framework Armenia can theoretically use to advance any [territorial] disputes [in fact this treaty is more than about territory] is in the framework of this treaty (which would be a very uphill battle). It has to be also understood that before Armenia may advance any claims on this basis, it has to resolve the issue with Russia, since the latter is the guarantor of the execution of the articles of this treaty as granted to her by the article 15 (16?) of March 1921 Moscow treaty between Russia and Turkey.

 

Everything else is irrelevant from legal-political perspective.

 

However, the two governments of the Republic of Armenia have decided not to pursue this issue in the most logical manner. Their attitude is that if/when diplomatic relations would be established, a new treaty would be signed.
