onjig
It wants to be a Band Mill~ a sawmill. It will run on a track that a log is laid on, and it will cut the log into lumber. There will be two wheels on the carriage, the band blad can be lifted and lowered. The mill will be powered by a Kohler Magnum 18hp engine shown, it has electric start and a spin on filter. onjig
The forks are clamped on, they will be welded. This is the drive wheel. The other wheel will telescope to loosen and tighten the blade.

onjig
We have many. We heat with wood. It seem a shame to buy lumber and cut up trees for firewood.

onjig
The left side will be adjustable. I'll arrange a Tee Handle to tighten and loosen the blade. It will take a 158" blade. Edited March 4, 2015 by onjig

onjig
Here's an update on the mill. The snow is my excuse for no completing it yet. I set the mill on a piece of track to test, If the blade would track[ stay on the bandwheels]. and what the mill needs. I do need blade guards, Blade lube, log stops,[ to hold a log on the track] It does cut, like a knife. You can see it's almost together. I should be able to cut a 30" diameter log 8' 10' 12' or what ever length of the final track permits.

onjig
Still need to build log dogs and a tensioner for the drive belt. It cuts a log like it was butter.
