SAMVEL SAMVEL YERVINYAN

A native of Armenia, Samvel began studying music at the Spenderian Music School under Maestro Armen Minasian. He won nearly every competition he entered, and has been a soloist since the age of 14. He’s performed all over the world - Paris, Berlin, London, Rio, Sydney and L.A. He’s extremely well known within the Armenian culture, and has been featured on PARS worldwide television broadcasting. Samvel is also a composer, and has released a total of eight CDs. He’s an extremely versatile musician, able to play any type of music from classical to rap. He picks up all of these with equal ease, which makes him a natural addition to Yanni’s compositions and performances.

Armen is a native of Armenia, where his formal training began as a child. He received his high school diploma from the Tchaikovsky School of Music for the musically gifted, and he earned his B.A. and Master’s from the Yerevan Conservatory N.A. Komitas in Yerevan, Armenia. He was one of only fifty-four violinists worldwide who were invited to compete in the International Competition of Violinists in Indianapolis in 1990, which marked his decision to move to the United States. Since then he’s continued to add to his already impressive resume. He was Concertmaster for the Panama National Symphony in Panama City, Panama, and for the New Hampshire Symphony Orchestra, and was an instructor of Violin, Viola, and Chamber Music at Clark University in Massachusetts and an instructor of Violin at the prestigious Longy School of Music, also in Massachusetts. This is Armen’s first tour with Yanni.
