British Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Jane Leach finds it difficult to answer a question concerning a possible impact of the Scottish referendum on both European and post-Soviet countries that are facing the problem of national self-determination, including Nagorno-Karabakh whether a referendum could be a solution for such countries.

The principles of territorial integrity and national self-determination are difficult to combine in each individual case, Mrs Katherine Jane Leach told reporters on Tuesday. They are, in any case, are conflicting principles. In some cases they are easily perceived, while in other regions, with religious and ethnic problems, it is more difficult.

Asked about her stance on Nagorno-Karabakh, which has Azerbaijan as its enemy, Mrs Katherine Jane Leach stressed the need for preparing peoples for peace, which implies talks about painful mutual concessions. However, there is no avoiding it.

She stressed the importance of political agreement on the results, which was the case in Scotland. Mrs Katherine Jane Leach cited the example of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In the case of Scotland, all the parties involved followed the principle of peace and agreed on the results. As regards Northern Ireland, a referendum is not on the agenda there, but the Good Friday Agreement (GFA) envisages the possibility of a referendum.

Asked about the arms race in the region, particularly about Russias selling arms to Azerbaijan, while acting as mediator, Mrs Katherine Jane Leach advised the reporters to put the question to the Russian ambassador to Armenia.

PS: British ambassadors have always been notoriously anti-Armenian, however this is not the issue. The point is about the principles of self determination and territorial integrity. I don't wont to lecture anyone on this right here, but both principles are not in contradiction, rather they complement each other. There cannot be right to territorial integrity without realization of self-determination. With the same token if one respects his own self determination, thеn rejecting someone elses right to such is simply....British or Anglo-Saxon policy. Respect for territorial integrity comes from having a status of independent state, which Azerbaboonistan had never had and had never, had sovereignty over Artsakh, neither now, nor 100 years ago!

UK envoy condemns terrorist act against Holy Martyrs Armenian Church

UK Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach has condemned the blowup of the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Deir ez-Zor.
At a meeting with reporters on Tuesday, the envoy called it tragic and added that such incidents are common in Syria. She voiced concern over the fact that the existence of the Armenian community is endangered there.
The international community is doing everything possible to find a strategy to tackle the situation, Mrs Leach stressed.

Why does she, Ambassador Leach, call them terrorist? They're just muslims with weapons doing what they want to do, just a butchering mob, filling the gap left by the destruction in Iraq and the waste land left by the Free Syrian Army, who we are supporting, as they drive the Syrian people from their land.

The " FREE SYRIAN ARMY" the same butchering mob attacking the people in Syria. ISIS is the Free Syrian Army, mopping up and looting when they're off duty.
