There is a movie Gallipoli, showing the Australian running in archaic charges, up hill, across open field, against the machine guns given the Orcs by the Germans. Ottoman is used in description of the Orc, prior to a certain date. I'm not sure why, maybe so the Orc today can say: Yes! it was done, the Ottoman did it.
