onjig
I read an article in AGBU Magazine titled: Armenia Cements Ties with Heavyweight Russia. What else can Armenia do? Yes, It would be great if America and Armenia were staunch friends. But the U.S. today having a Muslim President who is supplying weapons to the crazies and wanting so much for Turks and murks to know, he is one with them. We, the U.S., would be bombing and strafing Syria now in favor of the curved knives, if not for the Russians. Russia can be heavy handed in dealings or even turn on us, but much of the west is licking around, ether friends or hoping to gain favor with enemies bent on killing us. Do you see it differently? Yervant1
I wish they both leave us alone, but then again when you are a minnow they will use you as a bait. This will continue until our corrupt leaders and the greedy oligarchs start thinking about the nation and turn us into sharks. I know I'm dreaming! onjig
Yes, that's the way it is. What can we do? Seem like Armenia has to go with one, have we got a real friend on ether side? Three sides muslims, and Georgia isn't the best neighbor. Edited June 13, 2014 by onjig
Yervant1
Geopolitics has no friends but interests, therefore the west is after lucrative business and a tool to use in the middle east with Turkey, they also want Azerbaijan for their fossil fuel so it's a no brainer. Where as Russia is also vying for them for the same reasons, if Azerbaijan forgets the west totally and goes to Russia then you might as well kiss goodbye to Artsakh. To both sides we are nothing but an obstacle, that's why they kick us around as if we don't exist.
onjig
I can see that as true. What can you see as the best move for Armenia? Armenia need Artsakh, without we are a postage stamp, not even an outlet to a sea. { that we were to get by way of one treaty]
Yervant1
Armenia is caught between a rock and a hard place, no matter which side it chooses it loses, because history has shown that. Every time semi beneficial treaty was signed immediately have taken away by another disastrous one. I guess the best would be to play a bride for both sides without dating either.Artsakh is not negotiable, any president who gives it away will be charged with treason, if not hunted down.
